      Hope is dead.

      Bernie has dropped out.

The character Hoke was right, in Shawshank Redemption: Hope is a four-letter word, after all. In mythology, it was all of the EVILs of the world that were contained in Pandora’s Box. When she accidentally let them out, she managed to capture one EVIL, which she retained in her box: HOPE. Hope is illusory, it is a chasing-after of castles in the air. Hope makes you think good things are possible, when the devastating reality is that our oligarchs have deemed us unworthy of anything but toil and death.

Now, the EVIL of HOPE is DEAD.

It’s time for something else. Rage! I want you to rage like Joshua at the Battle of Jericho! RAGE UNTIL THE WALLS COME TUMBLING DOWN!

DO NOT ACCEPT A RETURN TO ‘NORMAL’! NORMAL DIDN’T WORK FOR ANYONE WHO MATTERS!

RAGE LIKE YOU NEVER HAVE RAGED BEFORE BECAUSE YOU MIGHT NEVER AGAIN!

Rage. Don’t stop. Don’t stop raging, as long as anyone will listen. THE END is nearer than they think!

      Rage!

      Hi ul,

      Dylan Thomas said it well.

Do not go gentle into that good night

Do not go gentle into that good night,
      Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

for tears – I am crying – and I want to rage. I am going to write the DNC and tell them that IF they do not adopt many of Bernie’s ideas then they can go the way of Shillary.

The only days as dark politically in my lifetime were when Bobby Kennedy was killed and when McGovern lost.
