After clinching the majority in the House of Representatives in the midterm elections, top Republicans on Thursday outlined a broad range of investigative targets focused on President Joe Biden and his family’s business dealings.

Comer is specifically zeroing in on more than 100 bank activity reports – known as Suspicious Activity Reports – that are allegedly related to the Biden family and says that the Treasury Department has ignored his repeated requests when Republicans were in the minority to hand over them over.

“In the 118th Congress, this committee will evaluate the status of Joe Biden’s relationship with his family’s foreign partners and whether he is a President who is compromised or swayed by foreign dollars and influence,” said Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, the top Republican on the House Oversight Committee. “I want to be clear: This is an investigation of Joe Biden, and that’s where the committee will focus in this next Congress.”

In a wide-ranging news conference flanked by GOP Rep. Jim Jordan, who is expected to become chair of the House Judiciary Committee, and other Republicans on the oversight committee, Comer said Republicans have made connections between the president’s son, Hunter Biden, and the president that they believe requires further investigation. Comer said his team has spoken with multiple whistleblowers who say they were involved in schemes involving the Biden family, reviewed Hunter Biden’s laptop, and received “previously unknown transactions.”

I believe Biden corruption dwarfs Trump corruption.

🙄 Another dog and pony show. This time sponsored by the republicans.

The more time they waste on their dog and pony show the less time they’ll have to kill services. And maybe they’ll forget Biden’s plan to privatize Medicare.

Quoting from memory from The Good Earth, that’s the commentary spoken by a Chinese person in a city right before a major upheaval, one with rioting and looting.

Yadda yadda yadda, taking for example a young guy who a month ago who would just smile at the antics of the Biden family, but who has now lost a lot of his investment in crypto, the Bidens no longer look as cute and cuddly. Ditto that for anyone whose finances have taken a beating recently.

Zelenskyy will be in the same boat if people start hearing that the stories of his regime making mad bank off of foreign aid are largely true. Though such stories would imo likely be suppressed until the powers that be want to squeeze Ukraine’s government.

P.S. Biden’s upcoming problems from the House could mean he can’t afford to be also tied to a discovered to be corrupt Zelenskyy administration. And the quickest solution to that is something Zelenskyy should be worried about. Though Biden also can’t afford to be tied to a disaster bigger than the one of Afghanistan, so Zelenskyy could only be replaced, and not eliminated in a way that would also topple Ukraine.

They have anyone in reserve without problematic tattoos, or speeches given praising Bandera? They’d need a mirror image of Putin, an unassuming intelligence figure who’d steered clear of controversy.

I forget the name but a couple of days ago I was watching a video where it was mentioned that a Ukrainian connected to either the government, the military, or both, had very recently started getting a lot of attention from the West, and Zelenskyy ain’t happy about that.

He’s the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and he and Zelensky have had their own conflicts. Zelensky has ordered suicide missions for publicity, and that hasn’t gone over well with Zaluzhnyi.

“Mothers at home hold their children close as they await confirmation of their husbands having been killed in the doomed assaults on the Russian positions at insertnamehere. People quietly talk among themself of the injustice of such attacks, and some dare exclaim that a real soldier, one who’d look out for the men, is what Ukraine needs to lead them.”

Something like that could be the background for the lead-up to deposing him, the writing on the wall.

Europe will need a scapegoat if they get flooded with ten million refugees needing warm, electrified, shelter at a time when they’re talking of rolling blackouts and crippling fuel and energy prices, and blaming Zelenskyy would give them the political cover to turn some back. If it was all Putin’s fault, they’d have to accept the refugees with good grace.

Lots of problems for lots of politicos could be ameliorated by the departure of Zelenskyy from the scene, assuming that along with that they’d compel Ukraine to come to terms with Russia.

“More missiles and artillery shells you say? Let me check. Nope, all out. Try us in the spring. Oh wait, here’s a few hundred shells that will sort of fit your artillery.”

I don’t know if chaos makes it more or less likely, but I suspect it would have to be a palace coup. Too many people have left Ukraine or have died in the conflict.

And it looks like enough of the military and SBU (secret service) still support Zelensky.

The more time they spend trying to screw Biden… the less time they can spend screwing the rest of us.

Is it a “dog and pony show” if the corruption is real?

For one thing, Biden deserves it. For another, it will suck up both parties’ attention to the point they won’t be able to do as much damage to anything important for awhile. Of course, Biden will never be removed from office by the Senate, so yeah, if it happens it’s just another exciting episode of As The Politicos Churn.

but starting with Clinton impeachment the US has really shown that impeachment is meaningless. A traffic ticket has more substance.

Except social media will be full of talk about it and all of the myriad possible outcomes that won’t ever happen. The K-Hive will say Biden should not run again, or maybe even resign, so Kamala can be celebrated as the first black woman president. Commentators on Politico will wonder if this is Rat-Pete’s moment at last.

Or is it finally Her turn? Lot’s of But Trump! and calling Republican congresscritters pushing impeachment traitors and socialists who don’t give a damn homophobes or racists as well as traitors.

Of course, they’ve been calling me, a veteran, a traitor for a few years now, so I’m used to it. It must be weird to be a Republican and be called a traitor by some Democrat with a rainbow flag flying from his house, don’t you think? It wasn’t all that long ago that there were political cartoons of Bush going everywhere completely wrapped in an American flag, and now it’s the Democrats claiming they are the custodians and guardians of patriotism.

That’s life in a one party state for you.
