I’m curious. So, I’ll tune in if I get home in time. Yes, I expect it to be a bit entertaining, but from what I see, the outcome has been predetermined.

Trump clearly incited the crowd first spreading lies about the election results. Then there was the promotion of the January 6th rally from Trump himself. He and the speakers clearly incited the crowd. This was all done in plain sight.
The best argument against it is dismissing it based on jurisdiction. The House impeachment was done while Trump was President. The Senate trial is occurring while Trump is a private citizen. I didn’t know that was possible but one thing Trump has given us a civics course. Emoluments clause was one of the first lessons of the Trump administration.
All that said I don’t think we are constitutional scholars though I will say Jim Lane’s legal literacy is higher than most.

I probably won’t even watch any commentary about it. If they want to prevent Trump from holding federal office again, they can easily do that under the 14th Amendment by a simple majority vote that Trump incited an insurrection. I don’t even believe that, but if barring Trump from running for President again is the Democrats’ goal, that’s all they have to do.
Since they’re not even considering that in favor of an impeachment trial after a President has left office, that is guaranteed to result in an acquittal, it’s just distractive bullshit away from things like food lines and people standing up in courtrooms against eviction proceedings.

And even with Watergate, c’mon man! Lots of spooks with agendas to get Nixon out. Not sure why but he did seem set up. But we (the hippies, etc.) wanted him out too.
With Im-orangement II: We can hope there is a discovery process that reveals something, anything truthful at all, about how the Capitol breach was planned and, on the other end of things, allowed to happen. Weak security. Is the former Sgt. of Arms of the Senate or House still in hiding? I forgot which one could not be found at either his DC or Nevada properties, when sought by probably the MSM. -

In the future, even if the republicans openly stuff the ballot box in some locations using armed wingnuts, then any questioning of the results of the election will be punished by impeachment and/or imprisonment.

but the whole thing is based on a circumstantial case. Sure, we know he wanted a riot, but there’s no way to prove that. Not unless we accept the samekind of “proof” used against the Weathermen and Black Panthers. Anyway, it will be a lot of posturing and fake indignation, and we see that every day.

I would watch if we impeached the presidents from Regun on. They all lied us into military conflicts they stole our taxes to do so. They have all taken bribes from the oligarchs whom they now all work for. In all of this they have slaughtered millions around the world, tortured, used rendition, chemical weapons, and lies soo many lies. They have now killed close to 500,000 Americans and considering the suicides, deaths from freezing to death, death by cop, I would guess the number is much higher!

You have to stop filling it faster than the drain can drain. Currently the drain is all but plugged by the sludge at the bottom.
Trump needs to be convicted, first by Congress, then in the various law suits for his criminal activities. Probably won’t happen though, but it needs to, as a start to clean out our government of the criminals that infest it.We are an arrogant species, believing our fantasy based "facts" are better than the other person's fake facts.
If you are wrong, it will be because you are not cynical enough.
Both major political parties are special interest groups enabling each other for power and money, at the expense of the people they no longer properly serve…

The Democrats posted a video of the Capitol riot mixed in with parts of Trump’s speech. It seemed effective.
The Trump Defence Team also played a video.
