This is not one of those cliched internet “goodbyes.” I respect too many people here to not glance back once in a while.

I consider myself a liberal, but I decided a couple of months ago I am voting for Trump. In 2016, I proudly voted for Jill Stein and if you told me in 4 years I would vote for Trump I would have said “You are F****** crazy.” For me, Biden and Harris are boldfaced liars or just flat out don’t answer questions. (packing Supreme Court, etc.) I think Trump can be a real asshole, but I agree with about 70% of his 2nd term agenda and he did some great work on the economy and some huge accomplishments with foreign policy. And these riots would not be nearly as bad if the dem governors let him send in the national guard but they rather play politics. And the dem lies about covid-OMG!

Most of you probably did not even get this far reading this cuz Im voting for “Orange Man Bad” but I want to let you all know I will always have a warm spot in my heart for this place and all of you. After that awful place that shall not be named turned in to a hivemind of BS,  you all saved my sanity.

But if you are like my wife and voting for Biden I will tell you what I told her. Don’t believe what most of the polls are saying. Trump is going to win big. (Please be prepared if you think that’s the end of the world and you believe the polls). For me, I am not voting for Biden, Harris and all the lies and the mobs burning down homes and businesses who they refuse to call out by name. I could go on and on and on with more specific examples of why I am voting for Trump but I bet most of you know the other reasons without me making a novel out of this. Take care my virtual friends. I am not taking this place off my favorites list -but after not being here for a while- I see how far apart our political thoughts are now.

take a step back.   I feel the same way you do about Biden/Harris.  Cannot, will not vote for them.

..and a few did last time. I don’t think you need to leave. There are no loyalty oaths on this site. (and precious few Biden supporters)

I think most of us aren’t voting for either Trump or Biden. We have a few Vote Blue No Matter Who types, and more who are voting for Biden mainly to vote against Trump, and at least a couple of people who are probably voting for Trump because they think he is the lesser evil. There are perfectly reasonable arguments for either position.

This isn’t SV, and we strongly discourage vote-shaming here. We all had quite enough of that at other places this year and four years ago. Myself, I’m writing in Howie Hawkins if I do vote, but I may not vote at all, which is another perfectly rational and reasonable choice.

What we won’t allow is someone pushing Trump’s actual policies, if he has any, and right wing talking points all the time. I don’t think you would ever do that, so I really don’t think you have anything to worry about here. At least, not from the mods and admins.

Not very much, but at least to the extent that I can understand not wanting to vote for Biden. Are there some good things about Trump? Sure. He is against foreign intervention, and has stayed out of several conflicts so far. Some of what he says about working class and middle class citizens is very good, although his actions are the exact opposite of what he says. Aside from that, he is a disaster. His goal is to continue the Reagan mission to destroy or cripple government so it cannot defend the people against the corporations. He seeks to take us back to the “gilded age” of the late 1800s, when the banks and railroads ran the country. On a personal level, Trump is a compulsive liar, a serial adulterer, a tax cheat, a scammer and much more. This would be OK if it didn’t affect his presidency, but he runs the country the same way he conducts his personal life. He is a worthless human being, and even worse as a president. I can see not voting for Biden. I plan to pass up the opportunity myself. But voting for Trump is worse, much worse, perhaps even reprehensible. It’s one thing to be frustrated by a bad choice, but it’s quite another thing to allow frustration to become destructive bitterness.

But only if the Democrats control both houses. Mind you, I won’t vote for either Trump or Biden, but given the current circumstances, there is no shame in voting for Trump.

We want candidates for the American people, not the American corporations, and there’s a wide variety here. The idea of a Biden -> Harris presidency scares me, with the Republicans, corporations and senior military supporting Biden.

I do not know how I will vote yet – but it won’t be Biden.

@njock , if I fit in then anyone pretty much can fit in.

Interestingly enough, I am considering a vote for Trump. But I have a secret escape clause to the vote.

New Mexico will never go for Trump, so that makes my vote a protest vote that will be meaningless in the end to the eventual outcome regardless of the person I vote for. The state is stoooopid overall and will vote Biden like the zombies on each side.

Now, that being said, here is something I’d like to share with everyone reading this topic of yours, including you.

I don’t want a site that is void of confrontation or new ideas or controversy. We gotta keep it civil, but the term argument is only achieved if there are two or more positions. And if we don’t have lively discussions with some differing opinions and/or positions, then we have a dead board.

Keep it civil and you can take any position you want. Even be a trump vote if you like. YOUR vote is your business. Not mine, not anyone else’s either, so stay awhile and maybe take a cruise down vote the bad to actually get some good in the future. I mean, it can’t possibly get any worse the next time around, can it? (sarcasm cause there is always worse)

Stay awhile and kick back and give us a protest vote point of view.

that makes me say I’m voting for Trump, because of those assholes. Then I remember I’m a member of the Green Party

@sffh I can’t bring myself to vote for either Trump or Biden in Ohio, precisely because it really is a swing state this year, so if I vote for the Fascist bastard who wins, I’d feel kind of responsible for whatever horrible shit they do down the road.

The Green candidate is write-in only, so they may not even bother to count them, even though Hawkins is an “official” write-in candidate. Jorgenson is actually on the ballot, so if the scanners aren’t tampered with my vote will at least show up in the stats. At least she’s for legalizing pot and ending foreign wars, and has no chance of winning so I know the really wacked-out Libertarian ideas will never materialize.

If there’s a Republican running against Marcia Fudge, I’ll probably vote for the ‘Pub, just as a protest vote. I don’t know if there even is one on the ballot. There wasn’t in 2018.

This is a Free Country and this site is very tolerant of most opinions. You can say what you want and as long as you are not overly nasty about it we will all read it and consider it. Even if it is somewhat silly. When I first came to this site is was because I believed in what Bernie was saying. Now I am staying because we can be exposed to a broad spectrum of political views and beliefs without attacking each other.

I too will not vote for Biden. He is merely HRC lite and will toe the DNC insider line. The Orange Buffoon is far from my idea of a Presidential Candidate, but he is better than any alternatives we have. I do not want to vote for him, but probably will. My state will be all red again, but my lone vote may be part of the overall vote count to prevent more of this “We actually won the popular vote but lost the election” silliness. I WILL vote. It will not be as enjoyable as most elections, but I paid for the Right to vote and will exercise that Right.

That Biden will come to power and with the support of all of MSM, the IC, the MIC, and Big Tech will cause millions of deaths around the world.  Much more evil than Trump.  Fortunately, I live in a state that my vote does not matter, and I can safely vote for third party.  This site is hopefully not SV, and you should not have to leave here.

I don’t do evil and a lot of people will die here by pen or bullet. The same goes for Biden. Nothing will be done for the people in this country for a long time. I’m voting Green for President. Have a nice day.

I voted Green Party for Prez.  This was the first time in my voting life that I did not vote for the Democratic nominee for Prez.  I did vote Democratic for US Rep Joe Courtney.  I like Joe.  He’s not a progressive but he is for working people.

I live in a rural town.  Biden/Harris will win CT but based upon the Trump/Pence signs and other Republican candidate signs, rural areas will go for Trump again.  The big cities will go for Biden/Harris.  HRC won CT by winning the big cities in the state.

You can also leave the presidential line blank, as 50K+ voters in Michigan did in 2016.  Or write in somebody you like.

I’m not voting for Trump or Biden. In NY my non-vote won’t matter. In some ways I think Trump is better than Biden. However, Trump is an asshole. He is the great divider and I think the PTB actually like him for that reason. When you divide the 99% the 1% win. They always do.

      @GlennDITM,

When I saw the title of this topic, and before I opened the thread, I was thinking a forum member was going to say, “I will be voting for Joe Biden.”

      Thank goodness you did not.

      You’re welcome to stay.
