- Did your post just “evaporate” into thin air or did the site just sit there and refuse to take the post?
- What exactly did you do when this happened in an attempt to post again?
Thanks for your explanation. I won’t have the answers for you, but I’m collecting important data.

Posts from tablet get through but sometimes link to a different reply in the same thread.
Have yet to post from desktop.

I tried twice. Both times it “evaporated”. Seemed to not even get to the hamsters.
I feel much better since I gave up hope.

It’s intermittent. Both posts involved a link but one (re: deBlasio in GD) never got past the hamsters and the other (re: lonely Boomers in the JPR Seniors group) did.

I hit ‘submit’ and after a few seconds I scroll down and my post is still there, awaiting disposition. I’ve tried to ‘submit’ again and again – esp if it’s what I consider an important contribution – but once it fails, it never seems to revive. I close my browser in anger and go away. Come back later and the dangling conversation is gone.

What have I done – tried to edit the post – works sometimes and not others.
There is also another problem where a third level post will not go through such as
- my post
- — a reply to my post
- —– am unable to reply to the reply of my original post
In this case, no attempts to post have ever worked.

Are you making sure you have two rows of icons in the text box tool bar before you post? I have noticed that if I forget to expand it, and usually it stays expanded after I do it just once, my replies usually take.

Hi OB,
Now trying your suggestion with two lines in the edit post bar.

PS – the work around seems to work – definitely a bug in the software.

It would go through the usual hamster-permission cycle, and then nothing.
It’s working more reliably the last couple of days, though. But I write everything in notepad and then cut and paste. Pictures still don’t work, of course, but that’s for another day…. 🙂
To answer question 2: I haven’t had the problem since I started writing in notepad. I can edit directly into the JPR text box; but it does seem trying to post original text here doesn’t work reliably.

Also, usually when reply to a particular comment, my reply ends up at the end and not as a reply to the particular comment.
Also, is there a way to reply to the last (most recent comment) rather than replying to the OP?
Also, site issue – I have not found away to see any recent post other than the first page – is there a way to get additional pages – earlier posts?

There are page numbers and an arrow to scroll to lists of previous posts, but since the color of those number buttons is very close to the page fill color, they can be difficult to spot. These numbers can be found toward the right side of the page both before the first post and toward the bottom after the last post but before the Create New Topic entry area.

on v2.0 it was below. you have to make sure you click on the reply button before posting in the title and text boxes. If you look upthread at Thou Art That’s replies, you will see they are threaded–in other words you can follow the replies as then indent toward the center of the screen.

That is why it is not very compatible with device use like an iPhone. After a few replies I see narrowing volumes sometimes with just a few character.
Not iPhone friendly for sure.

When you reply to a particular post, not the original, be sure and hit the reply button/word directly above to post you’re replying to. Not the reply button above the original post.

- As noted by Ohio Barbarian, whether the toolbar is expanded in above the text box makes a difference. If it is, I can enter title and text without doing anything between. If not:
- I fill in the title, the text box is not editable
- I hit the Submit pushbutton
- The post is still at the bottom of the page, with the text box now editable
- In Internet Explorer:
- There was an OP to which someone had replied
- I tried to reply to that reply
- My reply post did not appear under the OP reply, but instead is shown as a reply to the OP

If I hit backspace, the text in the body box would reappear but when I tried to post it again the same thing would happen over and over.

site makes a topic, for example:
Jackpineradicals / General Discussion / My Topic’s Title
But then there is nothing to see, only a blank slate for the comment.
And when I try to repost the whole thing, it returns to the blank slate.
And when I click on the topic’s title, site says no and returns me to the forum, where my topic is noticeably absent.

Oddity: step# 1. If i hit respond directly below OP, i can only reply in subject but not in body. I found that if i hit the post tab at this point, the ‘awaiting hamster approval’ appears but my ‘headline only reply’ disappears only to reappear at the bottom of all of the other replys, unposted!
Step# 2. At this point i am able to add my thoughts to the body of my reply as well. Only after jumping through those hoops am i able to post in full to the OP.
If i stop at step# 1, my post does not get posted but by finding my unposted headline at the bottom of the entire thread i am able to completely respond and post a reply to the OP.
Another Oddity: If I scroll down through any entire thread, i find a normal reply (to OP) set up. I find that if i wish to do so, i can reply to OP there normally without dancing through steps 1 and 2. of that first oddity. I am not sure why that feature is even there but it fully works as a method to respond to the OP regardless of the number of posts above it and regardless of my hitting the respond tab directly under the OP.
Last oddity: I am unable to respond to anyone who responds to me in a thread.
All of these oddities conspire against my so called “smart phone” which is where i spend most of my time at JPR.
I can not report on any oddities from my laptop at this time.
Good luck with your data gathering, may it help provide us with the solutions we need.

Mine just sat there & wouldn’t go through.. I copied & pated a couple times changing things slightly every time.. but it never took – & then I copied something else that I was working on & lost it..
Frustrating, haven’t posted much since – hell, not sure this one will go through.. lol

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, who says he is still considering a second presidential run in 2020, is teaming up with Democratic leaders in the House to put forward a series of bills that address one of the most talked about issues among voters: the rising cost of prescription drugs.

#3, Unless I add an emoji from under the text box  , my texting messages will not post at all.
#4. There is rarely a cancel button beside the Submit button.
#5. My old fashioned cut-copy-paste ends up being a non-viable link or if a title brings over its own long internet address, I just go in and edit out the title(s).

engaged in the edit program or spam filter or whatever is causing posting problems and limits. It is a technical problem, and can and will be solved.
Your innuendo that some progressive entity is censoring the site is like blaming a flat tire on Nancy Pelosi. There may be a political slant to some Word Press’ programs, but if there is it certainly isn’t progressive.

Where did you see such innuendo??
The two rows of icons don’t appear when posting on an iPhone.
The censored word list continues to grow and sometimes the post just sits after an attempt to post something, which I assume means I have used a word which is unacceptable to this site.
Ass_ualt is such a word as are a myriad of others.

My experience is exactly the same as OCMI’s post 9467. I’ve found workarounds for most of it, but its still hit or miss whether it posts as apparent response to OP, or to the post I thought I was replying to.
On edit: this time it posted at the bottom of the stack, as (apparently) response to OP.

Just spent 1/2 hour trying to post this
Tulsi Gabbard is our friend
https://medium.com/@na_rup/tulsi-gabbard-is-our-friend-2c46617c6ba3
Wouldn’t post, no explanation, no instructions. Maybe someone else can post it as it is an excellent article that rebuts the lies that are being spread about Tulsi.
Really too bad this is the software you’re trying to make work. It’s very frustrating to spend time composing a post and have it disappear with no idea of what is wrong. Who really cares about nested replies, the quote from the OP is enough. Good luck, maybe I’ll check back to see if there’s any difference.
