I think Biden may be very dense.

He reacts negatively to the proposal to cancel $50k in student debt, saying he will cancel $10k because Congress will go along with that. First of all, Joe, there are members of your own party that will undercut anything that cancels any student debt. Secondly, the Republicans will all line up against you, every one of them. Did you not see what happened to Obama? You were there. You saw him talk all bipartisan and reasonable, and you saw how he was rewarded for that. C’mon man!

There is a another way to view Biden/Harris and the so-called democratic party. Toward the end of the following Rising clip, David Sirota captured the essence of the party.
Effectively he said “the democrats are a ‘pletohra of progressive policies’ overlaid by the preferences of their DNC DLC DCCC DSCC Third Way Donors and Defenders”.
So, all the democrats are really about is satisfying their 1% donors first with leftover crumbs for the 99%. Who are the democratic donors? Biden/Harris campaign finance records provide some insight though insufficient detail thanks to Citizens United.
Future Forward USA $61,272,483 Bloomberg Lp $57,874,653 Asana $46,941,669 Priorities USA/Priorities USA Action $26,793,547 Sixteen Thirty Fund $24,874,655 Senate Majority PAC $20,689,169 Democracy PAC $20,500,000 American Bridge 21st Century $10,260,573 Paloma Partners $9,016,248 Euclidean Capital $7,009,605 Alphabet Inc $6,980,876 University of California $6,932,357 Defending Democracy Together $6,776,862 Simon Youth Foundation $6,603,535 Alameda Research $6,242,800 Laborers Union $6,035,067 Service Employees International Union $5,792,602 Y Combinator $5,369,141 League of Conservation Voters $5,365,134 FTX.US $5,220,000
One suspects that Biden/Harris have received calls from the top tier donors and the message was simple. We will support only X amount of tuition debt relief.
At the end of the day, Biden/Harris are not dense. They know all too well not to bite the hand that feeds them.

He simply has no interest in doing anything for the people. Biden has been very clear about not making anyone’s life better. “Cupboard is bare”.
Biden works for his donors. Best to view everything he does through that filter, and also best to look at Biden’s record. Not dense, just enthusiastic about inflicting austerity and war. Remember, Democrats in Congress consulted with Biden and cut the $1200 to $600, and even that is likely resented.

Everything I post is just my opinion, and, honestly, I would love to be wrong.

As @thouartthat listed above, Handsy Joe knows who his masters are, and he’s a loyal dog. Not the brightest in the pack, but loyal. What he and his sare dense about is the price that they, and some of their families, will pay if this goes on. But oh, that’s right! It can’t happen here. That’s the gamble our ruling class is taking.
