If JPRers were to vote in a presidential primary today, who would they choose?

The choices are those who have declared their candidacy. Only JPR Admins will know who voted for who. You won't be punished for your choice.

I’m pretty sure that’s my combination… Actually, the reverse would be good for me, as long as they team up.  It’s the best choice for all the issues in balance to each other.

Hell, no... I'm not giving up...

Any chance we can have Tulsi as Secretary of State?   Most of the candidates are either neoliberal or not very well informed about foreign policy.  Bernie has learned a lot since 2016, when he was weak in this area and Tulsi as obviously thought a lot about it.

Sanders, unless he’d already started scoring 50%+ delegates in state after state, then Gabbard for the otherwise-kiboshed views on foreign policy–every Presidential attempt at reform has been sabotaged on that front, not at home

(they will regret putting CA so early this time around)

    Bernie Sanders has my vote.

As long as he does not make my head explode by choosing Hillary as his running mate i will be ok with whomever he…,

I chose Tulsi (“if the Primary was held ‘today'”). But by the time the Primary reaches my state, I’ll likely vote for Bernie.

I chose Bernie (surprise, surprise). If this poll were posted prior to his entry, Tulsi would have had my vote.

I’m really hoping for Bernie/Tulsi as our ticket….. He has already been quoted as saying his VP will be female. Of all the ones available, I really don’t see anyone else.

It’s time to turn this boat 180 degrees. I personally can’t wait.

That’s the ticket! I think that’s already been decided. Just a gut feeling.

She has military experience, will be great on foreign policy, is very Progressive like Bernie, is female and a woman of color. She’s also very intelligent.

I think they would be the perfect ticket.

If this poll could do ranked choice voting, I would have picked as follows:

    1 – Bernie Sanders

    2 – Elizabeth Warren

    3 – Tulsi Gabbard

if it allowed for three more choices, those would probably be:

    4 – Andrew Yang

    5- Marianne Williamson

6 – Pete Buttigeig (or however he spells his last name)

Realistically I don’t think any of these three have a snowball’s chance in my back yard of being elected President in the 2020 cycle, but I believe their voices add more of value to the discussion than all of the Turd Way clones combined.

Only other person on that list I would ever remotely consider would be Inslee, based on the climate change issue. That alone would justify me voting for him over Cheeto if there were no other options. But I sure hope it doesn’t come to that.

The others? They will get a vote from me the day AFTER Hell gets an NHL franchise.

I didn't refuse to vote for Hillary Clinton because any goddamned Russian told me to. I refused to vote for her because she is a warmongering, election stealing, Goldman Sachs fellating, Republican WHORE. No offense to sex workers.

Following Satan with ranked choice voting:

    1. Tulsi Gabbard
    2. Bernie Sanders
    3. Andrew Yang
    4. Elizabeth Warren

I added Elizabeth Warren as my 4th if possible.

Beyond that, I have a list of unacceptables.  Kamala heads that pack, since the others, I feel I could go either way, dependent on who they are.

Although I voted Bernie, Tulsi has all the best leadership qualities they term as ‘Presidential’: bold, decisive, sincere, dedicated, smart, unapologetic, and tremendous charisma that builds trust. Bernie has most of these, but she has that element of surprise (for those who haven’t been paying attention), that could kick that grade school bully’s ass from here to Sunday.

Remember how much credit Nancy Pelosi gained for comparing Trump to the temper-tantrums of her grandchildren. For the first time in his life, he never fired back. We may have finally found his Achilles heel. Now imagine Tulsi Gabbard schooling Trump in the debates. It may catch him off guard to be pushed by such a strong, smart woman who is ten steps ahead of him.  That’s the debate that I want to see.

Ranked Choice: Bernie first, Tulsi second.

Dream Ticket as ranked choice; Bernie Sanders/ Nina Turner first, Bernie Sanders/ Tulsi Gabbards second.

Although there is a certain appeal to a Turner/ Gabbards ticket. I see that as something for further down the road.

Whoops, this started the same day that Beto O’Rourke jumped into the race. It would be interesting to have a poll including him.

Agreed. JPR has been especially enthusiastic about the possibility of Beto throwing his skateboard into the ring. Just today, multiple threads have popped up championing his candidacy. There’s no doubt a poll including him would tell a very different story.

Beto isn’t even progressive. He isn’t really very liberal at all.

Just goes to show ya that you can fool everyone sometime.

Yeah personally I would think that O’Rourke would draw from the Biden/Harris/anti-Sanders supporters more than Senator Sanders campaign.

I just wanted to suggest that the poll would be more useful if O’Rourke were included. And I mean that in the sense that I would like to see if my suspicions about his impact on Sanders support are at all valid.

Over at We Support Bernie2020 FB page someone shared a poll from a Beto page, Beto (Robert Francis O’Rourke) v. Bernie. When they first posted it was 60 % Beto. By the time I voted it was 74% Bernie. I said Beto’s army is no match for Bernie’s army.

Bernie for me and I’ll support him through the primaries. I’d be willing to vote for Bernie, Warren or Tulsi Gabbard in November.  If the nominee is much to the right of Warren (Biden), then I’ll likely vote Green.

You know you should have had this be a Borda Count poll, don’t you?

    Some fucking progressive YOU are.

Preferential balloting is the only way to get the preferred candidate.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh. How may times I gotta tell you this? Math theory shows that to be the best multi-candidate platform for determining the most preferred of the candidates.

OMG!!1! Bernie has slipped in our polls!

Back at SV in BOTH of two polls durring the runup to the Dem nomination for 2016 Bernie Sanders had a solid 90% lead in the polls over whats-her-name.

(I just love quoting those two polls to the 10%ers who may lurk here from SV….those polls DID happen, their candidate DID steal the nomination from Bernie and as we predicted their pantsuited corporatist DID lose to the most ridiculous candidate the Republican Party ever ran for POTUS).

Of course they stole the 2016 nomination away from Bernie. If the truth could even be known, the American people would be shocked by the margin of victory Bernie would have had over Hillary.
