I won’t vote for any candidate who supported punitive racial profiling, especially when they are a former Republican who bribed the DNC into violating their own rules and allowing the candidate into the debates when they didn’t qualify.

Bloomberg should not be a serious option for any voters who even remotely consider themselves to be liberal, progressive, or civil libertarians.

His body recovered from his torment and became hale,
      but the shadow of his pain was in his heart;
and he lived to wield his sword with left hand
more deadly than his right had been.

The way things are going, that place is on the verge of turning into freeptown… they were founded in solidarity of al gore when Bush was elected, but are openly coalescing around a guy who helped give us his second term. I cannot believe it. 🙁

Hopefully I’d get to play with them some, like a cat with a small rodent, before one of the admins bans their asses. @bearian

But that hasn’t happened yet, more’s the pity.

Warren fizzled, her own fault, be surprised if she even gets re-elected.  Buttigieg, IMO, too shallow for the long haul.  And really a lot of minuses.  Completely constructed of minuses.  At some point, the DNC will show their ugly ass and blatantly try to sink Bernie.

How is it acceptable for a Democrat, who claims to be progressive by definition just because they are a Democrat, support a racist, sociopathic, authoritarian, Fascistic oligarchical megabillionaire who is literally trying to buy the Democratic nomination and the Presidency in order to advance his own power?

Because they say so, that’s how. The corporate Democrats, establishment Democrats, or what I call Corruptocrats and Vichy Democrats, who hijacked the party of the New Deal and Great Society and turned it into a combination corporate tool and money laundering machine. Democrats who would rather nominate the recently Republican Bloomberg and lose to Donald Trump than see a President Sanders.

I’m 61. Most of those people at the other site are in their 70s or older, and are very comfortable indeed, if all the posts I’ve seen about donating $500 to some Vichy Dem candidate are true. All the defenses of capitalism and corporatism over there turn my stomach. They hate Bernie because he might make them pay a little more or maybe even give up a vacation home or a European vacation or two. Or they hate him for other reasons that make no sense if one has any kind of progressive ideology.

For the record, I Demexited in 1996 after Clinton passed NAFTA after promising he’d prevent it during the 1992 campaign. I voted for Ralph Nader in 1996 and 2000 because I refused to vote for something I did not want. I got conned by Obama, but voted Socialist and Green in the next two elections.

It is better to vote for what you want and not get it than to vote for what you don’t want and get it.–Eugene Debs

Unlike Bernie, I really am a democratic socialist like Debs was. I’ll sure as hell support a Social Democrat/FDR type like Bernie over what we’ve got now, simply because the future of the planet, and the future of my stepchildren, are at stake. Bloomberg’s a capitalist oligarch. He doesn’t give a shit what happens after he’s dead, and figures his descendants will have enough money and resources to survive climate change quite nicely.

Anyone who supports someone like Bloomberg is most unlikely to stay on JPR for very long. Neither are warmongers. Left-libertarians, Trotskyists, socialists of different varieties, Social Democrats, Greens, New Deal/Great Society Democrats–in short, progressives–are welcome. We give each other some shit, and sometimes things get heated, but we are all united in our resolve to make the world a better place for ourselves, our descendants if any, and for the planet itself.

I think you found the right place.

Mr. NYPD is my army. And no, neither of those labels describe Bernie.

Lots of frightened little children in the Centrists. And the media is doing it’s best to whip them up.

I will never vote for a billionaire under any circumstances. The ONE exception would be if the Powerball got up to a billion dollar jackpot again and Bernie just happened to have the winning ticket.

I will never vote for a racist, sexist, Republican asshole from New York who is barely different from the racist, sexist, Republican asshole from New York currently occupying the White House. “Vote for me. At least I’m not Orange and can speak in complete sentences” is not a campaign platform.

Apart from Midget Mikey, I will also never vote for anybody who enabled the Chimp/PNAC wars (let alone anybody who SIGNED any of their documents) or anybody who supports the AIPAC agenda.  Or anybody who insists on propping up a criminal health insurance corporate racket who have never and will never treat a disease or perform a necessary medical procedure.  And if you don’t support the Green New Deal, you might as well take the express train to Hell right now, rather than wait for the planet to have the exact same climate as we do down here.
