      I’m back

Aloha! You haven’t heard much from me lately as I’ve been gone for the last 4 months on an active duty tour & deployment to Africa as a Civil Affairs officer supporting a Special Forces mission to go after al-Qaeda-affiliated jihadists. It was truly my honor to work with incredible patriots – experienced, focused warriors with an unwavering commitment to serve our country. We should never forget that no matter the decisions made by politicians/careerists in the Pentagon, it is our men and women in uniform who selflessly & quietly defend the safety, security & freedom of our country every single day.

I haven’t posted much since I was gone because I was asked not to talk about my going overseas until my mission was complete. Al-Qaeda is very active where we were & as someone who has a high profile, I would’ve been a prime target for the enemy, putting my life and the lives of my fellow service members and our mission in greater danger. I look forward to discussing the foreign and domestic issues and challenges facing our country.

She was the only one on the debate stage to make an issue of them, and had she not been in a combat zone while serving she’d have been much more easily dismissed. Kamala Harris, a Clinton clone, all but outright said that Gabbard’s opposition to our destruction of Syria made her a traitor.

All the other politicians keep voting for The Forever War with scarcely a grumble, by comparison. Kucinich and Paul being two recent exceptions to that, and both often cast as weirdos for their opposition.

Gabbard is far from perfect, but is still the only seriously prominent politician who walks the walk while having to cross hot coals to do so.

She meets an important standard that used to be the minimum to gain support from progressives.

Serve the Empire by supporting skullduggery in Africa is more like it.

      Not impressed.

Corporate America consists of totalitarian entities laser-focused on short-term greed.

and it increases my support for her.

It’s not just talk – she was deployed.

When she talks about the military, she’s been there and seen it.

She would not easily start yet another war.

Until we address the underlying causes of terrorism, sending troops against them won’t work. I think it actually makes more terrorists. (since we seem to kill a lot of innocent people on all these “missions”. Then their families want revenge.)

Her fake smile. Her fake epiphany on rejecting her earlier homophobia – that lasted 5 minutes, didn’t it. Her holier-than-transgender-athletes-and-to-hell-with-Title-9! arrogance. Yuck.

Remember Sandy Duncan in Roots, as the kindly plantation master’s daughter? Her final scene where she tells Kunta Kinte, smiling, “I’d like to help you, Kunta, but my father won’t let me! I wish you well.” Sorry if this is extreme, but I think of that when I see Tulsi smile and say “Aloha”. She thinks she can erase her personal animosity to gay and transgender people with a smile.

No offense to you, @babel17 – I know I am in the minority on this board when it comes to how I feel about her. So be it.

Separately, ever the nudge when it comes to checking sources, the issue I have is, I do not know who Ms. “I am LGBT” kathrynrosefisher is, and while she is entitled to her opinion, there are plenty of GLBT individuals with whom I am familiar who share my distrust of Tulsi Gabbard on GLBT issues. And she got worse, IMO, with the introduction of her bill on banning trans girls from sports (from December 11, 2020, only 9 months ago):

“It’s shameful that one of Rep. Gabbard’s last acts in Congress is to attack trans youth,” said Chase Strangio, deputy director for Trans Justice with the ACLU LGBT & HIV Project in a statement provided to TIME. “While this bill will not advance, it has already sent a dangerous message to trans youth and is spreading the same lies that are fueling attacks on trans youth in state legislatures.”

“Rep. Gabbard’s harmful and unnecessary bill is not about protecting girls and women’s sports. There’s no evidence in the 18 states with policies that allow transgender athletes to participate on teams consistent with their gender identity that inclusion negatively impacts athletic programs,” added GLAAD’s Alex Schmider, Associate Director Transgender Representation. “This is more about opportunistic people like Rep. Gabbard who, under false pretense, claim to be protecting girl’s sports to justify discrimination.”

Mara Keisling, executive director of the National Center for Transgender Equality, concurred, describing Gabbard’s “play for attention” as “embarrassing” in a statement. “She should be ashamed of trying to burnish her right-wing credentials with attacks on transgender student athletes,” Keisling’s statement continued. “It’s just a hurtful attempt to get on TV without any regard to the damage such rhetoric does to transgender kids.”

Tulsi has shown her true colors serving in another US illegal war against poor African nations bombing killing using  white phosphorous drones raping stealing brutalizing communities.  ( by going after Aqaeda or Isis or one of the other us partners in crime. She who claimed to understand the lie is out their serving the MIC and defending the Great War of lies . She gets no respect from me.
