    I'm done with this guy!!!

Ok, I’ve had it.  I have been told for a year that this moron (Tillerson’s words) in the White House is “my president” and I should support him. Even though I was sure this guy was nothing but a “racist narcissistic con man”,  I was told I must respect this decision the country had made. I have tried and tried and tried. No more. I’m done with him.

His year is review: Drumph has tried to kick 32M off of health care, refuses to even entertain medicare for all, and has just robbed the treasury with his tax plan. He has insulted so many countries and their people, I quit counting. A book recently confirmed facts that he could possibly be out of his mind. And despite the book, no one in the GOP has the balls to step up to the plate and address the idiot in the room. And now today, his opinion of shithole countries and picking Norway for our immigration trafficking? Sorry, I don’t know what else to call it. This guy is out of his mind, and does not reflect the wonderful country I live in. He has done so much harm to this country, and I can even begin to list all of damage. And what about accumulating 2K in lies over the past year? How can anyone even trust this guy? It has been a daily roller coaster for a year now, filled with ignorance, racism, misogyny, stupidity, and corruption. OMG. So when does this all stop? We cannot take another 4 years of this. It almost feels like the beginning of the end.

Well, this man no longer represents me, or my country. It is to the point now where I feel it is affecting me physically, by being sick more often. What in the hell happened to the country I had just a year ago? I sure as hell don’t recognize it any more.  If this guy doesn’t trigger a revolution, nothing will. Now, just imagine how bad it will be in 3 years? I get dizzy thinking about it.

      1. He can't last 3 years

The question is how bad does it have to be, before he is removed?

How much damage will he be allowed to do, before he is removed?

        4. He will be allowed to do all,rhe damage

Thwt the right wing wants done before they get rid of him. Then they will shrug “it was him, not us. Arent we great that we got rid of him.?” And the damage will have been done.

…and you think you’re going to stop this simply by ‘pulling a lever’, in a booth, behind a curtain, every 2 years? - Know yourself. And if you need help with that, call the FBI. -  There is only ONE solution to this mess:  New Party !

Only it’s not just the RW. There are plenty of D’s who are complicit. They should be doing everything in their power to do something about this goon. Their idea is to let this guy do as much damage as he wants so people will flock back to the D’s. This same attitude is what gave us this orangoutang to begin with due to the candidate they tried to shove down our throats.

        23. Unless he literally drops dead in office before then…

…the insane Orange Bastard will be removed soon after January 20, 2019.

The Koch brothers & other billionaire fascists want to remain in power as long as possible. Best way for them to do that is to promote Pence to the official President (he’s already the one actually doing the job anyway) and then – under the terms of the 22nd amendment – Pence can serve out the second half of Cheeto’s term and still run for 8 years on his own after that.

Though this has been the law for a while, no President has actually done this yet. LBJ would have been the one to do so, had the Vietnam clusterfuck not made the odds of a second term of his own in 1968 very unlikely. Between a corporate media now made even worse by Sinclair Propaganda gobbling up local TV affiliates all over the country, Shittizens United (and its sequels) enabling unlimited coroporate money in elections and the numerous voter suppression schemes deployed nationwide, the threat of a 10 year Pence/Koch/Mercer Reich is very real, despite the fact that most people despise these bastards.

      3. A year ago we had just finished trump/clinton.

That was not my country even back then.  Two years ago January I knew it was going to be  trump/clinton and I was disgusted.  Now I focus only on progressive candidates, give directly to progressive candidates, will vote only progressive candidates.    Support alternative media.  Except for BBC I do not have my TV turned on.   Spare yourself all that makes you ill.  Hold on to that which nurtures you.

      10. Need to do this to get our government fixed…

Vote out Pelosi and put in Jaffe instead for her district in congress.  Take back the House and get a new Speaker of the House that hopefully will reflect a boatload of new Berniecrats that get elected over neoliberal Democrats and Republicans.

THEN impeach BOTH Trump and Pence, and THEN get this newer speaker of the House in as president, with hopefully at least a Democratic House and a split Senate where we can put the fear of God in those Republicans for 2020 election that will have more seats up then, that they better start doing the people’s work or get thrown out in 2020.

We try to push Trump and/or Pence out now, we’ll just get president Paul Ryan with nothing better and perhaps things worse too.

Vote AGAINST the race to the bottom by both corporate parties who seek to screw workers over globally!

      11. All of those are standard GOP policies

Trump makes for an easy, and deserving, target, but that’s kind of missing the point.

Seriously, Trump is obviously a first-rate a-hole, but in these instances he’s just doing the bidding of the ugly face of the two-party oligarchy.

It isn’t his tax plan. It isn’t his disregard for the less fortunate. It mostly isn’t his foreign policy that sees the world as a place for U.S. military bases and endless empire ruled by force. It isn’t his healthcare plan. It isn’t his view of the environment as resources to be exploited. It isn’t his hatred of organized labor.

He’s the hideous pinata they hang above their policies, hoping to deflect blame away from themselves. Let’s hold them all accountable.

          14. Hmm, I don't really buy the unstable thing

I have tuned out much of the anti-Trump rhetoric, since so much of it is over-the-top deep state propaganda, so I am not fully informed, but I think mostly the unstable thing is part of the propaganda.

I will, however, agree that he is a “racist narcissistic con man”, and that the velocity of our fall is greater with the GOP, and especially, Trump, in power than with the Democratic Party in power.

Either way, we are falling. I can only hope that this free-fall wakes people up to the urgency for real change of direction, rather than being diverted to thinking we just need a slower fall with the other party in charge.

Right now, we’re being offered Oprah, Biden, Booker, Harris, anything to keep from changing direction, and remember, Trump is unstable.

            35. I'm not all that concerned about his psychological makeup…

People have used the terms and expressions of this  social/clinical science more for social opprobrium than for any positive personal resolution; his failings are gross on their own terms.

Constant lying, bad-mouthing those who disagree, stripping institutions of value, are all rather calculated and have kept him in good stead with his movement, and to a great extent with corporate power.

His persistece stems from lack of meaningful opposition.  The GOPers are upset because tRump and his supporters have greatly displaced and overlap their Party, and they find this difficult to manage.  MSM is completely mystified because he throughly sets the agenda with his Twits.  (MSM reports them AND his “fake newz” characterization of MSM at the same time.  MSM carries his slop bucket, whether they like it or not.)  And the Demo Party, which can’t and must not stand for anything, has learnd a bad habit well:  How to fear reflexively while not leading.

It’s not that tRump is so strong, it’s that he has cowed any remnant of opposition.  He is an “apt pupil” of politics.

              Profile photo of dreamnightwind Donor

              38. I think the GOP is only worried if he makes them look bad

They want Trump to look bad so they don’t have to.

All while enjoying how ruthlessly Trump executes GOP policies, not much different than the policies we’d get from a Bush or a Pence. He’s a little less friendly to globalist interests, but with the interests of the wealthy safely on top. Trump has less (no) shame about the horror of their policies so rams them through without lube. He also revels in saying what many of them believe but would not say in mixed company.

I don’t see Trump and his supporters as having taken over the GOP. Mostly he’s been cornered by the establishment of both parties. The Bannon wing is out of power, and most or all of Trump’s current men would be welcome in any GOP cabinet.

The tweets set no agenda except to focus media and public attention where he wants, away from the establishment GOP policies. The agenda goes on behind the scenes, while everyone is outraged by the tweets.

I don’t defend anything about Trump, I just see this as a distraction from the ruthless actions of unchecked neoliberal policies. Whose policies are these? The healthcare plan? The end of net neutrality? The disrespect for the environment? The disdain for the poor? The military fetishism? Do you think Trump thought any of these ideas up on his own?

It would be difficult to show much difference between what Trump has done and what any unchecked neoliberal would do (especially the GOP version; the Democrats are not unchecked, they have to be discreet since their role is the good cop, they throw more bones to the public while colluding with the GOP for the really big reforms, such as welfare deform, financial dereg, the bankruptcy bill, the wars, the trade agreements, etc., we all know the list, it is long and devastating.) What opposition has he cowed? Who in power actually opposes these policies?

                Profile photo of Eleanors38 Donor

                39. I don't think we disagree on much. "Opposition" s what constitutes social and

political power.  The Democratic Party and MSM would be be (and have been in the past) a locus of opposition.  But the Demos have learned the bad habit well of going silent when bullied, and MSM (interested in only the hoary 2-party outlook) have caught that flu and self-neutered themselves as players.  In a sense, the Demos and MSM are inextricably bound together with the common purpose of negating (mainly ignoring) any opposition left-of-center.  But the Dems at one time did retain some semblance of opposition.  No longer.

tRump has a haphazard movement behind him which is nontheless durable.  Bannon sees himself as a go-between regarding much of the rank ‘n’ file of tRump suppprters, and the media have given him that status regardless of what Breitbart does, so in the event of a vacuum, he retains a legitimate force in the wings.

Locally, I am trying to keeps tabs on both Your Revolution and the insurgency within the TraCo Demo Party; are they one in the same?  Separate?  Planning on a coalescence later?  Right now the “opposition” lies in these fledgling groups and other scattered individuals.  In the eyes of MSM, they are not worth covering, hence have little legitimacy, hence have no power as “opposition.”  That is why it is absolutely necessary that this opposition-in-waiting build its own social media presence, the go-to source for millioms of progressives.  Progs must build their own institutions.
