I really like this website and am so thankful to have a place to find a sane view of world. Honestly, love you all…
And if you dont mind, I am going to use the thread over time to rant, reflect, reminisce, project and whatever.
I am securely employed, with good health care, and a good pension paid retirement in sight. I am fortunate. I am also saddened by and frustrated with my lack of agency in my own life, never mind my community, country or world.
nuff said for now.
i encourage the rest of the the drunken idiots to add their own feelings and perceptions of the world to this thread as i lay out my own
i love you all… thanks for helping me steady the helm

There are several good things about this site and its members. People here get sarcasm. I got kicked out of another website because they didn’t recognize sarcasm and couldn’t tolerate it the few times they did recognize it. People here respect your opinion, and your right to have an opinion, whether or not it agrees with theirs. You can even like Joe Biden if you want to. Nobody does, but you wouldn’t be driven away for doing so.

We would give you a book called, “The 10 Reasons Why Joey is Bad” in hardcover.
With facts-not made up BS.

@hasslecat why no one would be for joe here is because we have all gone through many levels of disillusionment in our lives. each disillusionment bringing sadness, anger, shame, you name it. but each disillusionment expanding our understanding of the world. i know the participants here believe justice in the truest sense

my main debate takeaway:
for me, there’s ever refined understanding of a line in the sand called justice. and it’s not real hard for me to judge someones distance from it if i listen to them for a bit
and some big ideas:
biden is high
booker says tax capital gains as earned income
kamilla is horrible
bmi+m4a+free education=freedom from wage slavery and the emergence of a cooperative society
and of course Bernie or Bust!
but at least get booker’s tax idea on the platform for fucks sake

I posted this in humor, but I have decided it’s really only funny because of how tragic it actually is. It demonstrates how utterly hopeless it is to be a good actor in a neoliberal world.
I have solar panels, geothermal heat, and a super insulated home. I never use chemicals on my lawn. It’s all a big “so what!”
It matters nothing

Twain said only insane people can be happy. Being drunk and/or stoned helps get thru…maybe I am insane.

And I’m glad you’re here.
