In A World Where Both Political Parties Are Beholden To Their Donors,

And where rank and file party members are mere pawns to be manipulated,

Voting for the lesser of two evils is an act of futility.

As Ralph Nader pointed out in his recent Politics and Prose book tour, the democratic party does not really want to win because they are afraid to be held accountable and responsible for governing. See time stamp 1:02:28  – near the end of the video.

And as Martin Gilens discovered in his landmark research on public policy, preferences and outcomes, what the America People want has no better than a 1 in 3 chance of being enacted.   And of that 33% possibility, it only happens when the 1% also agrees with the public.  Else, what Congress enacts reflects the wishes of the 1% first, last and always.  Presentation starts at time stamp  10:42.

And finally, as Beto O’Rourke so elegantly explained, all members of Congress are subject to the demands of “Call Time” and “Dues” – the mandatory process of campaign financing that guarantees politicians become pawns of the rich and powerful.  Discussion starts at time stamp  3:05.

Regrettably, most Americans still believe in a “Mr. Smith Goes To Washington” world where virtuous men and women advocate for average Americans.  Those days are long, long, long gone.

In sum, few are brave enough to say that “The Emperor Has No Clothes”.

Fewer still are willing to act on their misgivings with conviction and admit that the American experiment is dead.

As is wisely said, “Radix Malorum est Cupiditas” – Avarice is the root of all evil.

That evil now pervades the land.

    1. Save this, please, for the new website.

    All true.

    • *Obligatory disclaimer - when I say "Democratic Party" I mean the DNC - the Clintons and the un-elected people and the consultants and the lobbyists and the corporations who actually run things.  The people who work and vote and are registered as "D" are no more the actual party than Trekkies are Star Trek.   Extra credit - the Democratic Party gets to actually fuck up your life. When you vote for it.
You think the only reason that people won't vote for a warmongering Third Way fracking-enabling cluster bomb throwing H-1B increasing lying pandering corporate and Wall Street shill who says she has no problem putting abortion rights on the table is because we are mad about Bernie?  Um, nope.

    8. Bookmarked for later.

They both really are a larger corporate party.

I just look at this Kavanaugh thing and can see it plain as day. If all these people are really concerned about a woman not being believed, then they should be calling on Bill Clinton being put on trial and strung up by his neck. But to many, those women were lying about Clinton and these women are not lying about Kavanaugh. Totally hypocritical. Also completely undermines their whole argument. And that plays right into the multi-national’s hands. The corporate parties keep the people at each other’s throats over these things and rake in the cash while paying for the Congress.

You're either a FDR style progressive or you're a Democrat, but you can't be both. Decide or get out of the kitchen!!

I’d encourage people to try typing below the subject line again.  If I can do it, maybe you can too.

    13. All the Dems(except Ellison) voted to restrict RC hobbyists for Amazon

Slipped into the FAA reauthorization was the repeal of section 336 which allows us to fly. Amazon and Google were the only ones to testify at the hearings. The largest group registered users got no say in the matter. Polymet Tina and Klobuchar will probably vote yes as well.

      14. Yep – The Academy Of Model Aeronautics Was Screwed By Big Business

As the likes of Amazon and Google used the FAA to legislate RC hobbyists out of existence.
