Forget who might occupy the White House in 2021. The Democrats and Progressives need to focus on and win the Senate.

I think it unlikely that Mitch can ram through a Supreme Court nominee in the time left. Not impossible, mind you, just unlikely. It’s also unlikely that Mitch will lose his race, but we can make him a minority leader.

Another thing to consider is, if Biden wins, Harris is out of the Senate. Also, I have no doubt that Biden and his handlers will pull an Obama and deplete the Senate with cabinet appointments.

So whatever happens, the Senate is the key.

I’ve been saying this for awhile now. This focus on Biden only is a shortsighted.  Without control of both houses of congress, a Biden presidency is just a minor inconvenience for the GOP.

Unfortunately the choices we have in Senate races are baked in for this round. Unlikely that the Dems pick up 5 seats (because we will lose Al). And several of those in office now are really moderate Republicans, so no changes of consequence will be allowed.

@n2doc  But even gridlock is better than just giving it away.

2020 will simply be the year when the repudiation of the corruptocrats is hammered home. 2022 will be when the People’s Party (or whatever we call ourselves) will start taking over.

Trump wouldn’t have been able to do 90% of what he’s done without the active collusion by Yertle. and at times, Pelosi.

Biden may be many things to many people but he’s first and foremost a politician who knows politics.  He knows damned well he’ll be old to run in 2024 and wants to chalk up victories for posterity to be seen as a good president.

I think his picks for his cabinet will be “experts” or pols from deeply blue states who will be replaced by Democrats.

@bazukhov Obama (or his handlers) pulled senators and governors and left voids that Republicans filled. I expect the same of Joe and his handlers. The fact that Joe is the nominee is indicative of the smarts at work.

“above the fray” and let the other candidates destroy each other.   He’s doing much the same thing with Trump.  He’s not responding in kind to Don’s insults and attacks.

Trump has always been “the issue” since he took office.   Biden’s letting him destroy himself with his obvious childishness and unfitness.

@nvwino Either result couldn’t help but be better than any Senate we’ve had in…at least 45 years.

A Biden win will allow the GOP to push through all that stuff that they don’t want to take the full blame for.  They never had to take the full blame for NAFTA, because Clinton.  They never had to take full blame for the Bush tax cuts, because Obama.  They won’t have to take full blame for gutting Social Security, because Biden.

Heads, they win; tails, we lose.
