Big snow storm is whipping around there.

Did OB get his super-duper snow shovel out?

Time to get that end of year workout shoveling the white stuff.

this morning at 07:30 a.m. in order to shovel the walkway up to the house , clear my bulkhead, and most importantly clear a path for my pug so she would have a space to go for her first-of-the morning walk.  (Would otherwise like to have puppy training pads as a back-up but she’s still in the chewing stage and would chew them up.)  Succeeded with the dog path and clearing the walk-ways and, following the snow-plow’s work on the driveway, I cleared the drift to get my car out of the garage.

Now it’s 10:15 here and I know I’ll have to redo the work around noonish and before the dog needs another walk.  Temperatures will not rise above the low 20’s today and we should get at least 3 more inches before the winter storm warning is lifted – hopefully around 2:30 p.m. EST.  In some areas snow was falling at 2″ @ hour and visibility was around 1/4 mile…

As a P.S., if you haven’t seen the USPS ‘holiday’ stamps this year, the ones being offered precisely capture my neck of the woods….winter scenes with barns, wildlife and firs, etc., etc.

We’re just starting to get the snow and fairly heavy winds.  We usually lose power in these kinds of storms, but we are prepared with lots of firewood and backup power supplies.  So far, so good.

15 inches here in Monroeville (just East of Pittsburgh), and all those old white guys in the neighborhood were mechanically blowing because most of the time it’s 3 to 6 inches during the winter. That’s why I manually shovel. It’s good if you can do it.

Pretty, too. East of us in the Southern-tier of NY, they got 40 inches in Binghamton, my old home. Thank goodness most people help the elderly, but they don’t all do it.

Hell, no... I'm not giving up...

It’s probably better than breaking your back to shovel it.
