"…it still hasn't gotten weird enough for me."

But I must say I DO have to wonder just how much weirder it can get…

On another forum, one poster is bragging about how he has changed sides and “embraced the second amendment”, and talking about defending himself and his husband from things that have only happened in his fevered nightmares.  I’ve seen the same kind of stuff ALL over the Internet in the last month and a half.  I just wonder how high the volume will get turned up as inauguration day draws near.  What are the chances some kind of violence will be perpetrated in the name of keeping Trump from being sworn in?

    To wit:

I live in Texas, but I do not like guns. As a rule, guns have never been allowed in my home.

This election has changed this. For my husband and I, going back into the closet and hiding isn’t an option, we’ve filed joint income taxes as married for a couple of years now, and claimed the allowable back taxes, so the government has full record of our homosexuality.

Trump hasn’t even taken office yet, but the whole atmosphere of this country has changed since that fateful day on November 8th. I have removed the family and friends who supported this monster from my life. We have absolutely NOTHING going for us now. They have a large majority in the house, they have the Senate (not filibuster proof, but I see them going full nuclear and declaring the Democratic minority as traitors and obstructionists to their new order), and they have this monster as their leader, and they are fanatical about him in a way that I’ve never seen in this country in my lifetime.

Maybe, and hopefully I will never have occasion to use these 3 Glock G17L’s that I’ve purchased, but for once, I am thankful for the second amendment. I will kill before I allow me and my husband to be loaded onto trains or trucks for re-education, or when his brownshirts decide it is time to invade our home and make us pay for our “crimes against nature”.

Tomorrow, my husband and I go to the firing range to learn how to use these weapons properly.

Per the Chinese… We live in interesting times.

    1. I've been hearing this a lot

People saying that they are glad they can still bear arms to protect themselves from a Trump presidency.  It all sounds scary.  not looking forward to 2017….

The more that social democracy develops, grows, and becomes stronger, the more the enlightened masses of workers will take their own destinies, the leadership of their movement, and the determination of its direction into their own hands. Rosa Luxemburg.

    2. Oh wonderful, millions of guns in the hands of people who don't know WTF

    to do with them.

    What could possibly go wrong?

      4. ikr?

Maybe one of their friends will have have enough sense to stop them before they find themselves in real trouble. Even that murderous seal that was glorified in a movie a few years back met his end at the gun range. These newbies with something to prove and a chip on their shoulders are going to learn the right way though. As you asked above, many will ask.

A malfunction causes an FI (fault indicator) to light up on the dash. It flashes in code saying what to fix. Simple and straight forward. Just like this place - causes and solutions without the bullshit.

      8. Likely the same stuff that happens when people buy a 4wheel drive and think they

      are invincible.

    5. IMO whatever violence happens won't happen to Trump – he's

got the Secret Service AND his own security.  Trump will be just fine.

I feel much better since I've given up hope

      6. Oh I totally agree; his personal safety isn't an issue.

I’ve seen some of the most breathtakingly stupid stuff written by disgruntled Hillary supporters, ranging from treason to sedition to coup d’etats, you name it.  And as time goes on, and that day draws near, the desperation seems to be amping up.

Don’t get me wrong.  I’m ashamed of my country for BOTH candidates they put forth and I think Trump is an inarticulate buffoon.  But I’m also a realist who knows he’s only one leg of the stool this country rests on and the sun will come up every day no matter what.

    10. Me personally, feel like I fell down the Rabbit Hole back in 2000.

However, I watched Reagan start dismantling the country in the 80s. Some of us knew it would come to this kind of disaster capitalism with a plutocrat as CEO of the nation.

I never promised you a rose garden.
