    3. Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush?

One of my daughters spent  time in Texas some years ago and took beautiful pix of the bluebonnets.

      6. Yup, that was Lady Bird Johnson that pushed for that!

      Waaaaay back then.

    7. I do miss that about my birth state. That looks like the Texas Hill Country.

    8. Texas wildflowers are beautiful. I think it was Lady Bird Johnson that did this.

A very special experience. I think the red is Indian Paintbrush, am I right about that?

      10. Lady Bird Johnson promoted a national beautification program

that was commemorated by the Post Office just 4 days before LBJ left office.

    12. Beautiful

but it makes me want to cry. After breaking records for no snow during January and February, and temps in the 70’s in February, we are now expecting 3 to 6 inches of snow here in Chicago

Our trees are already starting to bud and the tulips and tiger lilies are popping up.

          16. Muscaris! I love muscaris, also known as grape hyacinths

My grandmother used to buy flowers from Holland. One time, she ordered muscaris for me, and I planted them in our garden. I always loved to seem them bloom.

            17. Wild Lupins are beautiful. I believe that the Texas roadside Lupin is

            a dwarf variety.

              18. That reminds me of a Monty Python sketch about Dennis Moore,

a Robin Hood wannabe who stole lupins from the rich and gave them to the poor.

    19. One of the things I loved about TX…

Blue Bonnets were so unique to it. Plus, I loved actually having a few decent thoughts about Lady Bird Johnson when looking at the wild flowers between all the miles and miles of Texas roadways…

Heck, I even appreciated the LBJ ranch. I know, I know…
