      The school districts for the cities of Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, San Francisco and Atlanta have announced that all fall classes will be held online because of the current eruption of new COVID-19 cases across the South and West. Last night, however, Georgia’s Republican Gov. Brian Kemp issued an order nullifying all locally declared mask mandates in the state, including in Atlanta.

      A Utah County Commission meeting was held Wednesday night to discuss the use of masks in schools, if and when the schools should open. The conversation never got started, because the room was flooded with maskless, MAGA-hatted “anti-mask protesters” whose defiance of public health guidelines brought the meeting to an abrupt halt. “This mandate for the children to wear masks is baloney,” one protester told the Salt Lake Tribune.

      shut it down, pay people to stay home, protection for front-line workers, & vote out mcconnell, pelosi, & all the locusts in both parties.  shut down wall street too.  shut down the stock market, they don’t do anything but make things worse.

      2020 = a dead loss, the year without a summer.

      The United States has to do Lingchi, “the slow process, the lingering death, or slow slicing, and also known as death by a thousand cuts… a form of torture and execution used in China from roughly 900 CE until it was banned in 1905.

      It was also used in Vietnam. In this form of execution, a knife was used to methodically remove portions of the body over an extended period of time, eventually resulting in death.”

      One really has to wonder how this would have gone if we’d had a president who hadn’t turned mask wearing into a political circus. Would stupid people have made a case out of mask wearing? I kind of think not. I think there would have been some resistance to it, but at least there would have been exploration of ways to abate this type of behavior.

      And have you considered what would happen to the DJIA?

      You have your priorities all wrong. 😁

      National issues (slavery/racism, income inequality, pandemics and pathetic health care, weak unions) are not solved with more states' rights. Global problems (climate change, migration, trade, war, pandemics) are not solved with more nationalism.

      @coldmountaintrail

      I was thrilled for 2020. I thought this would be a good year and Bernie would have his shot at the WH forcing the establishment off their pedestal.

      Damn was I ever wrong. 2020 has been a total s**t year. Maybe beyond that. I was really hopeful for this year.

      Now you talk about letting the “air out of the tires” ? 2020 flattened all my tires.

      @coldmountaintrail The problem is we’re in the middle of a long, hot summer that’s going to get hotter before it’s over.
