Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has written to Senate leaders describing actions taken against individuals.

However, the documents do not indicate who was responsible for Khashoggi’s death, as demanded by the senators.

The US has imposed sanctions on 17 Saudi officials, including Saud al-Qahtani, a former adviser to the crown prince who, it alleged, was “part of the planning and execution of the operation” that led to Khashoggi’s murder.

However, Democratic senators told the New York Times the president was in breach of the so-called Magnitsky Act, which requires a response within 120 days to requests from Senate committee leaders. That deadline passed on Friday.

Probably because Donny Jr or someone gave MBS the go ahead in a phone call or email and there’s a record of it. What else do you expect from an administration run like a mafia family in a reality TV show?

We don’t betray right wing authoritarian buddies like MBS (Kim, Netanyahu, etc.) no matter what we do. The rest are fair game.

They are called 'human' rights not "if politicians do not feel threatened" rights. Many politicians see national sovereignty/security as more important because they protect their power and wealth. Human rights often do just the opposite.

National issues (slavery/racism, income inequality, pandemics and pathetic health care, weak unions) are not solved with more states' rights. Global problems (climate change, migration, trade, war, pandemics) are not resolved with more national sovereignty.

I often wonder why the big Khashoggi’s murder push by MSM?

I mean he is not even an American, if we are supposed to be worried about foreign junos, why does nobody talk about all the junos being killed in Mexico? I read somewhere there were about 50 killed in the last year or so.

Way I see it, is MSM is telling the public what to be mad about. Or by not reporting what they don’t want you to know about.

As long as it’s “Orange Man Bad” I guess it’s acceptable to some.

Since I don’t have a dog in the hunt maybe I see things differently.

It was reported he was a green card holder and permanent resident of the US seeking citizenship–three of his four children have dual US citizenship-and he was employed by Jeff Bezos’ Washington Post. It was also reported that they were refused permission to leave Saudi Arabia to come here even though they are US citizens. The whole thing reeks, yes, and I agree the M$M fails to report 99% of the news going on both here and around the world.

I think there’s more to this story about the son in law of Trump (Kushner) and sketchy business deals with Mohammed Bin Salman and the Trump Family (yeah, like the Corleone Family). I would love to see them all in orange jumpsuits.

Khashoggi family history might be helpful here:

Adnan Khashoggi…estimated to have had a peak net worth of around US$4 billion in the early 1980s…son of Mohammad Khashoggi…King Abdul Aziz Al Saud’s personal doctor…. of Turkish origin, although Khashoggi himself has also said that he had a Jewish grandfather. Adnan Khashoggi’s sister was author Samira Khashoggi who married businessman Mohamed Al-Fayed and was the mother of Dodi Fayed. Another sister, Soheir Khashoggi, is a well-known Arab writer (Mirage, Nadia’s Song, Mosaic). He was an uncle of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

A commercial pioneer, he established companies in Switzerland and Liechtenstein to handle his commissions as well as developing contacts with notables such as CIA officers James H. Critchfield and Kim Roosevelt and United States businessman Bebe Rebozo…Saudi author Said Aburish states that one of Khashoggi’s first weapons deals was providing David Stirling with weapons for a covert mission in Yemen during the Aden Emergency in 1963. Among his overseas clients were defense contractors Lockheed Corporation… Raytheon, Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation and Northrop Corporation…

By golly, Ben Bradlee and Katherine Graham would have gotten to the bottom of this assassination.  Dang, even Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep would have.
