First announced on Jimmy Dore (below) and also on Primo Nutmeg (maybe below?)

He clearly wants to be in the running, but without actually running. Got that? (He wants to be able to be a candidate, but not really campaign and still keep his job, as often discussed.)

So what the cool kids are doing now is drumming up support, and helping to create some campaign infrastructure for him to step into. Getting Nina as his VP, for ex, should not be out of the question. It’s all a matter of enough berners getting on board, then we make it happen.

I saw this earlier today and it gave me hope and energy. Let’s make this happen, I’m in!!

The DNC “big tent” excludes Nina Turner but includes John Kasich.

This is just the bad warm up act that doesn’t know when to quit. Real show hasn’t started yet.

This will make things more interesting, if only to create speculation about whose votes he will pull, Trump’s or Biden’s. Write in candidates usually don’t draw much from either major party candidate. Both parties have large numbers of disaffected voters, so it’s difficult to estimate. Fun!

@hasslecat The write-in thing is just the first step (and/or worst-case result). Right now it’s about building a strong coalition that can support a real campaign for him to step in front of.

First “write in” candidate I’ve ever voted for.

I say that as a Draft Jesse person. If the petition doesn’t work by or in the Green Convention, I’ll vote for the nominee.

I don’t know what the rules are for write-in candidates but they still have to jump through some hoops to get ballot access even if their name is not printed on the ballot.  Seems idiotic to me but I don’t think it’s the only state like that.

@alittleweird This is more just to show where his head is. If we can quickly build a strong backing for him, the better the chances of him taking it to the next level and becoming a real candidate.

@ohiobarbarian What I can’t abide is not doing anything.

My feeling is he could quickly catch fire, and then feel ready to jump in as a full candidate. Long shot? Maybe, but I’ll take it way over all the berners wasting their time on #replacebiden.

Right now been trying to chase down Tim Canova for any support. Surely nobody beats Tim’s election-fu. Whereas Jesse is maybe a little too shoot-from-the-hip.

If not, he’s just being silly.

I do believe the Greens have a voter database, and the people who want Ventura to run are working on infrastructure now, I read, so things are ready if he is the candidate.   I think excitement and enthusiasm would attract people to help with this sort of thing.  I would be nice to vote FOR someone this time, and not against someone, not having to choose between two bowls of spoiled offal at the ballot buffet.

In any event, I am certainly not going to vote for anyone running as a Democrat, voter database or not, or for a Republican, and since I am well aware that voting for someone who is not a Democrat or a Republican is not “a winner” in our corrupt system, a database (which is, IMO, likely to be hacked by the Democrats), is not as important as issues are.  Not even on the same page.  Ha, maybe he could get Bernie’s database.  Although I am sure the DNC has that locked down tight.

I believe the silliest thing would be voting for someone like, say, a Vichy Dem, when they are against all the issues I am interested in and would be affected by, just because of their voter database.  And not voting at all seems silly.  So – since I will be voting Green anyway, voting for Ventura would be quite satisfying to me, and not silly at all.  Gotta start somewhere, and the Democratic Party is a corporation which has no intention of moving to the left, and, IMO, has moved to the right of whatever “center” is.  Actually, “center” is bullshit, it means that the Democrats are moved “to the right”, that’s all it means.

The local head of the Seattle Greens (who has also held national office) doesn’t know what precinct she lives in.  (Note that I am being very specific about what a database is.  Anyone can get a list of registered voters from their SecState pretty easily.  A database has lots more in it, like data from voter surveys, which elections people have voted in dating back to 2000.  It can be sorted by age and other demographic characteristics.)

Definitely our plan is not to rely on Green Party, or anything other than what we’re able to put together ourselves.

Yes, it’s a lot to do in little time, so the sooner smart people can get off the Woe Biden train and get with us, the better.
