Joe Biden will have a very hard time winning over the Berniesphere
The problem isn’t his platform, it’s that he’s not trusted.
Bernie Sanders has suspended his presidential run. Now Joe Biden has the difficult task of bringing the left into his tent.
It’s clear that Biden’s camp is at least somewhat concerned about gaining the support of the more-progressive faction of the party, giving in to Elizabeth Warren’s longstanding critique of his bankruptcy reform legislation and adopting a zero-tuition college plank explicitly modeled on ideas Sanders has championed in the past.
Some people in Biden’s camp are even talking about the possibility of a Warren vice presidency, something at least some of her allies would welcome.
The real talk, however, is that Biden’s problem with the left isn’t about anything that is or isn’t in his platform, it’s about who he is…

Same for Warren. And all the rest. Done. Millennial grandson is vacillating between not voting and just going ahead and voting for Trump. The millennials know what Biden thinks of them. And know all about his record. Campaign pandering won’t change that.

Zero chance of me voting for anyone on the Dem ticket. Most likely, I will not vote in this election. Even the green party guy does not look good to me.

Personally I struggle with the idea of not voting. I know it’s a broken system and all, but people have fought and bled and died to tear the right to vote out of the gentried class’ hands, and I feel I have to give that some respect, y’know?
Also I live in Washington, and we usually have a plethora of candidates; last presidential election I had my choice of Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Green, Constitution, Party for Socialism and Liberation, and Socialist Workers party. Both Greens and PSL are confirmed for the ballot this year.

that it was my obligation to vote considering those who died so that I could enjoy such a privilege. I remember the summer of 1964: Mississippi Burning (Goodwin, Chaney Schwerner), my carpool mate’s Dad Lemuel Penn being killed by KKK returning from National Guard duty in Georgia, my grandmother’s Unitarian minister James Reeb being bludegeoned to death down south for protesting segregation (actually 1965)… and so much more. It was personal.
But those martyrs who fought the good fight and made the ultimate sacrifice did not do so for the shitstorm that now exists on both sides of the aisle abetted by the slicksters in the media. They would be appalled.
Still, I will vote. I will vote Green to send the DemocRATS a message and generate viability for a third party. And I will vote on down-ticket candidates and measures. But I am done with the Democratic Party and I have little hope for this country. Glad I am old.

Biden won’t have to win over anybody. The campaign is going to “go dark” until mid-July at which time Biden will be diagnosed with some terrible malady and have to drop out causing the DNC to have to hold an emergency meeting. Of course the owner of the DNC will be there and will volunteer to accept the mantle to take on Trump.

Bernie suggested that I vote for Her Royal Herness after the 2016 convention. Didn’t listen to him then, and certainly won’t this time (after he endorses Joementia). I’m glad I’ve been registered Unaffliated (can choose my primary ballot, D or R) here in North Carolina since 2008. Not being registered in the D category became a bigger deal to me after the 2016 primary theft, and now the 2020 primary theft.

Biden will not get a significant number of millennials to go out and vote for him. He can call on every celebrity he wants to go GOTV, but they’ll be too busy hiding in their own fucking mansions. Even if they do, on youtube or some shit – most of us are going to tell them to fuck right off.
Given the now confirmed choice between a Giant Douche and a Shit Sandwich, I will be voting green… probably. Unless the green candidate turns out to be an asshole.
