Joe Biden’s ‘conspiracy theory’ memo to U.S. media doesn’t match the facts

Former vice president Joe Biden’s extraordinary campaign memo this week imploring U.S. news media to reject the allegations surrounding his son Hunter’s work for a Ukrainian natural gas company makes several bold declarations.
The memo by Biden campaign aides Kate Bedingfield and Tony Blinken specifically warned reporters covering the impeachment trial they would be acting as “enablers of misinformation” if they repeated allegations that the former vice president forced the firing of Ukraine’s top prosecutor, who was investigating Burisma Holdings, where Hunter Biden worked as a highly compensated board member.
Biden’s memo argues there is no evidence that the former vice president’s or Hunter Biden’s conduct raised any concern, and that Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin’s investigation was “dormant” when the vice president forced the prosecutor to be fired in Ukraine.
The memo calls the allegation a “conspiracy theory” (and, in full disclosure, blames my reporting for the allegations surfacing last year.)

“Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin’s investigation was “dormant” when the vice president forced the prosecutor to be fired in Ukraine”
and had Shokin replaced by a tool.

The media already has covered it up mostly. Any time, the issue is mentioned, it is qualified as a “totally debunked” allegation. This is pure propaganda. Hunter Biden was a corrupt political scion who was being investigated by the Ukranian prosecutor and Joe Biden withheld aid money to get him fired.

Essentially every time I see this mentioned in the US corporate press, they refer to it as the “debunked” accusation. This is anything but “debunked.” They say that when Biden forced the firing of Shokin, he was just following US policy and everyone including the EU and the IMF agreed that Shokin was corrupt.
But it appears that Biden, or others, twisted a few arms at IMF and in the EU to elicit a few totally baseless accusations, and then threatened to withhold the loan guarantees to force Shokin’s dismissal. Eerily similar to what Trump did in trying to get Ukraine to help him expose Biden.
Biden was a little more sophisticated in that he laid the groundwork by getting the false accusations planted so he could pretend his actions were justified. Trump just blundered ahead and made his demand with no veil of justification whatsoever.
Mainstream media is really good at suppressing information when their masters put out the word. Biden’s “memo to the media” here looks like it is designed to give them a cover story to excuse their blackout. We’ll see how effective we can be at getting the word out over the internet.
Shokin’s sin was that he investigated things we didn’t want investigated. According to Shokin, he got a list of these from, who appears to be part of the whole charade. He ignored her instructions and was removed. Amusingly she got the same treatment from Trump soon after.
As I said before, battle of the despicables.

Just like Warren doesn’t understand what a “selfie” really is (eg, it is NOT a photo taken by her campaign staff using your phone), the Biden campaign has no idea how to respond to trolling.
At its most effective trolling tricks or forces a person into talking more and more about their weaknesses. It is just a higher tech version of the old “if you wrestle with a pig you’re going to get dirty…and the pig will love it.” Trump didn’t ask the Ukraine to investigate Hunter, ONLY to announce that they would. THAT is classic trolling. Trump’s team knows that the establishment Dems freak out and make multiply the effectiveness of these types of attacks. They will repeat or imply the accusation over and over while Trump moves on to attacks on Bernie, immigrants, our collective sanity, etc.
The MSM is perfectly willing to ignore Hunter Biden’s deal and Joe’s lies about that deal (‘we never talked about Burisma’) but an impeachment trial is like a flame for those MSM moths. Forbidding people to talk about something IS talking about it.

My take is that in political elite circles, corporate board memberships for themselves or family members are considered perqs of their positions. They all engage in this kind of “retail corruption” and think it is not worthy of notice. To me, $50,000 a month for a do-nothing job seems a lot like a bribe–or at least an attempt at influencing policy in their favor–but I’m not part of the political elite.

Biden doesn’t need to put out a memo warning the “media”, since they have already been censoring themselves over this to protect him and his idiot son.
All governments lie to their citizen's, but only Americans believe theirs.
