      3. Yes go FE!

To bad that some who post Jimmy Dore vids have no idea that he is speaking directly to them, just like they like to tell Fawk Em that her hat explains everything. Sorry to say, if you know that is a RUSSIAN hat. You also know that reagan gave missiles to Iran to not release the hostages until election day.

    4. Too late, Jimmy. I'm done with the Democratic Party.

Jimmy, it’s not that they were dumb or stupid.

Jimmy, what you fail to recognize is the Third Way DNC had a mission. That mission was to insure that the corporate friendly Republican Party took over the nation. It worked. Mission accomplished.

      9. Spot on Enthusiast.

I changed to Independent this year. Been a D all my life.

It’s a strange thing to realize that our political system is the illusion of choice but once one divorces themselves from the two party system, one sees how much they are exactly alike and how they are both out to screw the US citizens.

      Money ruins everything. :(

PS. political free agents that play both sides will be infiltrating the Independents too so……..research, research, research!

      :)

        14. They infiltrate everything then tell us how proud we should be to be American.

I hate this country and the Fascists that ruined it. No one should stand for the pledge of allegiance.

    8. Just remember, we're comparing percents.

and the quantities those percents are based may not be as wonky as the percents, and may reveal a potentially different narrative.

Consider for the sake of argument the hypothetical that HRC might have spent pretty close to the same amount of dollars on policy advertising (give or take a couple 10’s of millions).    Because she spent a billion rather than roughly 500 million, her -percent- of total ad spending- on policy looks like half of what Trump spent… even though the amounts are pretty much the same…

Under that same hypothetical (Trump and HRC spend the same dollars on policy)… you could look at this and say, HRC fully covered the bases on policy by matching Trump measured on money spent on policy adds…  THEN ON TOP OF THAT spending she crushed Trump’s spending on ‘personality’ by multiples of his spending.   She could do that because she had twice the amount of money to spend.

The question of whether or not it’s a good thing to push so much personality advertising (in dollars or in percents) is, of course, a different issue which is at the core of the question.

I can imagine an election world in which Americans have a ceiling on how much personality advertising they’ll take before it starts  turning them off.  I’m not sure if Mook and company ever considered that.   They spent like there was no upper limit on what the people were willing to have imposed on their radio and television experiences.

I think an important question yet addressed is  how much attack advertising, and how much self aggrandizing advertising the American voter will take before they turn-off.   The second issue would then be whether the total amount of minutes of that stuff is the issue, or whether it’s proportion of the advertising that’s the important metric.
