(from August 2019 …I wonder if he has changed his mind)

Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin said conservatives may need to turn to physical violence in order to protect the United States against contemporary liberalism.

The Republican governor put forth the controversial suggestion after speaking of the “degradation of society” during an impassioned, 15-minute speech at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C., on Saturday. The provocative comments started to gain national attention at the start of this week.

“America is worth fighting for ideologically. I want us to be able to fight ideologically, mentally, spiritually, economically, so that we don’t have to do it physically. But that may, in fact, be the case,” he told the crowd.

Bevin suggested that if Democrat Hillary Clinton were elected president, she would set the nation on a dangerous course that might require bloodshed to correct. He told the audience that the “candle” of liberty might go out “on our watch.”

To hammer home his point, he paraphrased a famous quote from Founding Father Thomas Jefferson: “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

“Whose blood will be shed? It may be that of those in this room. It might be that of our children and grandchildren. I have nine children,” he said. “It breaks my heart to think that it might be their blood that is needed to redeem something, to reclaim something that we, through our apathy and our indifference, have given away. Don’t let it happen.”

Andy Beshear is governor now and he seems to be a decent man.

I’m in the market. @bcalm They’re just so friggin’ expensive, and I need to get a lawnmower first, but it would be nice to have one. Just in case.

They need adversaries, enemies, to function. Their talk is full of fighting, war terms, competition.
People working together, peacefully is incomprehensible to them. It seems to set them off, as something to limit, or fix, for being somehow wrong.
They are fascinated with guns, mostly military knock-offs. Many think they need to be armed in public for protection, walking around in the mist families, women, children and the elderly. They are scared of their own shadow, the noises their own house makes at night.
Conservative police regularly kill people with cell phones in their hand, on their own property because the victim looks like they are holding a high powered weapon in their hand. They have even shot and killed people watering their flowers, because the nozzle looked like a gun to them. Never mind the hose attached to said nozzle and the water is coming out of the nozzle.

      I just don’t get it.

We are an arrogant species, believing our fantasy based "facts" are better than the other person's fake facts.

If you are wrong, it will be because you are not cynical enough.

Both major political parties are special interest groups enabling each other for power and money, at the expense of the people they no longer properly serve…

24/7 in rural areas and red states is primarily responsible for driving these poor, brainwashed unfortunates into a state of fear and hate inspired delusion.

100% of them watch Fox News and listen to Limbaugh and his ilk religiously on a daily basis.

They have been rendered insane through deliberate, focused misinformation.

The same type of focused, deliberate misinformation that drove so many German people insane, which led to the rise of Hitler and the Nazis.

The truth is, there’s no such thing as being “anti-Fascist.” Either you are a decent human being with a conscience, or you are a fascist.

We were drafted for the Vietnam war and had to go because we didn’t have corrupt doctors to lie for us like Trump did. Many liberals volunteered during the cold war as a patriotic gesture.

Just because we don’ t want guns available to shoot up children in school and support gun control does not mean we are afraid of weapons.

We know how to use them and can buy them just like any American.

They lost. And that was in 1865. They need to fucking get over it already.

Throughout history, Conservatism has always been applied by force and propaganda by the powerful on the weak. Is it just that now it’s OK to be saying out it loud?

‘Nuff said. Red meat for ignorant blobs that have blood in their cholesterol.

Aimed at the wingnuttiest of the right. Like others have said, certified gun-nuts aren’t the only ones able to handle firearms, and from the looks of the average “values voter”, I doubt they could even jog 100 feet or climb even a single flight of stairs without reaching for their O2 bottle, which they no doubt left on their electric rascal cart.
