Louis DeJoy strikes again: How our postal service helped Amazon win controversial Alabama union battle

After the failed union vote at an Amazon warehouse in Alabama, the critical postmortems ignored a reality that may result in another election: Amazon cheated.
The Jeff Bezos company installed drop boxes to collect votes on company property. Amazon placed these boxes despite being told by the National Labor Relations Board staff not to do so.
The drop boxes were placed with the connivance of the service led by DeJoy. Former President Donald Trump installed this high-rolling donor to worsen mail delivery during the fall presidential election Trump was hellbent to win. Less mail, less votes; less votes, less competition. And Louis DeJoy, the Trump-era holdover dismantling the U.S. Postal Service, helped.
A May 7 labor board hearing will consider a request for a new vote sought by the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union. Its complaint details a campaign of intimidation to pressure employees to reject the union.
The Labor Board has a long history of looking the other way when given evidence of cheating by employers in union elections. But this time may be different because of who helped cheat — from local on up to national officials.

Where there is a will to reverse this fuckery of the postal system, there is a way.
Hell, no... I'm not giving up...

For sure there is.
He can fire every board member right now if he wants to.
Could have done so from day 1.
The longer he stalls, the more its certain that the Ds want to destroy the PO too.

Consider that before DeJoy became Postmaster General, the Post Office was delivering upward of 90% of First Class mail on time. That declined to a low of 71% over the holidays, owing in large part to a combination of winter storms and a massive increase in demand, thanks to Covid-19 stay-at-home orders. But DeJoy isn’t blameless: Since he (DeJoy) took office, the Post Office has never again met that 90% delivery rate, even outside of the busy holiday season.
- Biden can fire all the board, appoint another board who will vote to fire.
- Biden can fire ‘for cause’ & an attempt to destroy the PO seems like ’cause’ to me.
- Biden can use the bully pulpit and ‘influencers’ to fire up the population to demand dejoy leave (I know, its unlikely but trying to cover all the bases)
- Biden can use congress to change the rules.
