If you posted any of the above and you can’t find your post, we’ve deleted it

If you have clicked on either you should scan your computer. Notesdev has listed a great place with free malwarebytes scan

    1. Sorry Mary and JPR I had no idea!

I feel like shit for getting fooled like that and putting people through extra trauma and drama, that’s never been my intention or MO.

Hopefully everyone keeps their pc protected with proper prophylactic devices since no one ever knows what one can catch out on the internet boulevards.

I will never have electoral relations with THAT woman and I didn't! *Always remember, everything "they" touch turns to shit.*

      2. please, don't feel bad!

You’re not the only one who has posted one of these. They do a good job of looking legit.

      Don’t worry about it

      4. Agreed!

Malwarebytes is really the best anti-virus out there… at least, currently.

      5. thank you

I’m adding abcnewsgo .co It’s the same place as the Nbcpoll place.

I’m also filing a complaint with godaddy as both places are now registered with them

Obviously, neither NBC nor ABC are going to be registered with or hosting on godaddy

      15. Hey, thanks for that! It found a bunch of stuff….

…on my computer that my old antivirus had been missing. What a great tool!

A hologram of a magnifying glass will also function as a magnifying glass, but a hologram of Sherlock Holmes won't solve anything.

I already scanned my iMac and iPad and found nothing.

    13. I use SuperAntiSpyWare & Malwarebytes

Between the above program and malwarebytes.org I’m able to fend the hits off.

Links:  https://www.malwarebytes.com/  It is fine to download this, just don’t let it get you to “try” the professional version as that one costs money and is good for 2 weeks only.

    and …

http://www.superantispyware.com/index.html  a free edition is available for download (finds all sorts of crap!)

    Hope this helps!!

      14. Thank you so much

I tried the malwarebytes on my phone and it didn’t work. I’ll try the other one.

Thanks again for the information and links

        16. Most welcome

I’ve been using both of these programs for many years to clean/scan my computers.  They both work well with Windows XP Pro and Windows 7 Pro.

These are my two anti-virus programs as I have nothing else installed.

It seems the more things you attempt to run, there is often a conflict created and it doesn’t work or your computer gets all clogged up with too many of these programs.  Some help a lot (like these two) and others are a waste of time and space (like Microsoft Security Essentials — an enormous program that never seems to find a thing!).

Glad to be of some help!

          17. I was using Panda Security

Which seemed to be great, for a while. But it’s not found anything for a while and I just don’t believe that

    20. Use Avast and Malwarebytes for scans, CCleaner to unclog the browser

Between the three, so far, knock wood . . . not tempting fate.  But, they seem to work okay to clear out everyday infections.  Won’t remove sophisticated key loggers, Trojans and such, but I don’t know of  anything on the market that doesn’t require expert knowledge to operate safely that will clean down to the Registry, Roots and Kernels.
