Michael Bloomberg’s extraordinary 12-year term as mayor of New york has just ended. This is an opportune time to review the billionaire mayor’s mixed-bag legacy — the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Nice of you to post it, but I don’t even need to read it. For one thing, just having mayoral experience alone doesn’t strike me as being sufficiently qualified to be president. Governor, yes, congresscritter, yes, anything else and I have to be persuaded.

For another, being a billionaire or a businessman of any sort is disqualifying for me. Billionaires because they are ipso facto my class enemies; businessmen because they will usually try to run government like a business and that’s just fucking stupid because governments and businesses have completely different functions, or at least they should.
