Mexico will ask Biden to free Assange

WikiLeaks co-founder Julian Assange has been treated “very unfairly” to the shame of the entire world, and Mexico has offered to take him in, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador told reporters on Tuesday. He said he would bring up Assange’s case with his US counterpart Joe Biden when they meet in July.
The UK announced last week it would extradite the jailed journalist to the US, where he faces espionage charges and up to 175 years behind bars if convicted. The decision by UK Home Secretary Priti Patel was “very disappointing,” said Lopez, who also goes by his initials AMLO.
He also said he intends to ask Biden to drop charges against Assange when they meet next month. Such an action would go counter to the “hardliners in the US” but “humanity must prevail,” AMLO added.
“Julian Assange is the best journalist of our time in the world and he has been treated very unfairly, worse than a criminal,” AMLO said. “This is a shame for the world.”
That would be incredible!
Shame on Australia and the UK, and also Sweden, for caving to the U.S.

Putting the request to Biden out there for all to see and judge.
Is it just me, or does it seem like some of the folks “in our back yard” are starting to assert themselves? Actually, I don’t hope the US will fail so miserably as to further ruin our lives, I just think a level playing field without all the bloodthirsty wars and sanction-mad economic wars would be good for all of us.

"Sometimes when I try to understand a person's motives, I play a little game. I assume the worst. What's the worst reason they could possibly have for saying what they say and doing what they do? Then I ask myself, 'How well does that reason explain what they say and what they do?'" GRRM
A YouTube comment – we need new conspiracy theories – the old ones have all come true.

I think the WH has given up with all the messages they try to limit with the “comment line”. They now have a real person manning the phones (remember, Mr. & Mrs. America, you can only reach them Tuesday – Thursday 11 am to 3 pm Eastern!)
Imagine how bizarre the United States has become where a law from 1917 is the only way to punish journalists for reporting the truth. And for that, it now takes Mexican President AMLO’s action to shame Biden into stepping up to free Assange.
Where has our complacency come from? Read 1984 (again, if you have to) to get where.
Hell, no... I'm not giving up...
