Can’t say that this public event won’t be a blockbuster. IT WILL!!! Now I wonder if Trump will declare a national emergency (II) on Feb 6? One thing for sure, his head will explode!

Cohen has agreed to testify publicly before the panel on February 7, according to a statement to Michael Cohen.
Cohen is coming to Capitol Hill after he pleaded guilty and was sentenced in December to three years in prison on multiple charges, including two campaign finance crimes tied to illicit payments made to silence women during the presidential campaign — crimes that prosecutors say Trump directed Cohen to commit.
In a statement to CNN, Cohen said he agreed to testify “in furtherance of my commitment to cooperate and provide the American people with answers.”
“I look forward to having the privilege of being afforded a platform with which to give a full and credible account of the events which have transpired,” Cohen said.

Meanwhile, many many others (with minor infractions) sit and rot in jail – waiting on a trial date and too poor to make bail.

Yes, NV Wino, I too thought about that as well. Something bad could really happen to Cohen prior to Feb 7 to shut him up. If not before, he may not be safe once behind bars. A revenge hit.
I don’t like Cohen, but for a rat rolling over on a wannabe mobster, I appreciate his effort to set the record straight and drown the real mop headed rat here.

Not sure why Cohen got all this time to get ready prior to serving out his sentence but all I could think of is that it seems like high profile cases get extra goodies before doing any time. Or possibly his cooperation with Mueller allowed him a few special goodies as well.

This is probably a major development that really might trigger impeachment in the House. Trump will go into a frenzy and do even more dangerously stupid things. We are in for even more interesting times. May as well look forward to them.
