      @incognito

      Hi incognito,

Thank You – Thank You – Thank You.

I have been waiting for this to be released to the general public.

It dispels the notion that “Renewable Green Energy” is our salvation.

Yeah, I feel pretty stupid. 😕

Is ANYTHING we’ve been told actually true?

I feel like I’m living in a Twilight zone.

          Hi incognito,

Yep – we all share similar cognitive dissonance when facing reality versus hype.  Rest assured you are human and normal.  Our collective challenge is facing these realities head on and without the “hopium” so prevalent in society today.  And that means addressing Climate Change will require substantial changes to how much energy each of us use each and every day.  As I like to say, the George Jetson’s future that so many cling to is never going to happen.  Truly a bitter pill for many.  Nonetheless, Climate Change will force the issue one way or another.  One way to view this is through a virus lens.  The current drop in economic activity is probably around 1/3 of what would be required to significantly slow global warming.  If we want to get through the long term bottleneck in our future, we will have to significantly alter how we live and work.  It is what it is.

Once again, a sincere Thank You for finding and sharing this documentary.

        You’re welcome.

I wonder if this is one of their censored movies that must be kept under wraps?

It’s unconscionable what the alternative energy industry has done. There a lot to hide.

I successfully posted this…Not certain if it’s the new vs. old f/b mechanism or what….The minute I switched to the ‘old’ f/b, I continued to have challenges posting….In any event, this was posted and it needs to be said.

I highly recommend this movie.  I’ve asked my kids (in their 20’s) to watch this for Earth Day.

        Hi cmt,

        Why the defeatism?

        Did you watch the documentary?

It clearly points the way forward

        • less consumption (capitalism)
        • less people (deliberately lower birth rates) and
        • less dependency on fantasy technology (solar panels, wind mills, biomass, etc).

        How is that defeatism?

Or did the documentary challenge personal beliefs too hard to retire?

‘Or did the documentary challenge personal beliefs too hard to retire?’

          = No

          ‘less consumption (capitalism)’

          = duh

‘less people (deliberately lower birth rates)’

= the ‘developed world’ has had same for decades, duh and is busy killing off the less developed world

‘less dependency on fantasy technology (solar panels, wind mills, biomass, etc)’

          = blanket fud statement

            Hi cmt,

Always the anger CMT.  Why the anger?  Tis puzzling why some hard truths generate such anger.

It was damn hard to watch even the first half.  What I believed was at least a good faith effort to reduce carbon emissions  – has instead added to them.  Every solar and wind plant requires an equal or greater amount of fossil fuel usage to be built and maintained.  The net result is the growth of carbon emissions.

Reducing the use of all energies that rely on fossil fuels will require a dramatically different lifestyle for most now living.  It also means convincing corporations, militaries and more to change how they operate.

I am saddened by this.  I think a cataclysm – an event of such destruction as to dwarf any disaster in known human history- is what it will take for that level of change to occur.

As such… I am not hopeful.

Yet it is still worth knowing – only with knowledge can we do anything about it.  So as hard as this is for me to watch, I recommend it to everyone – with a caution – it is likely to depress you.  It is likely to increase anxiety.  Generally speaking, the truth hurts – it is a pain I try to never shy away from though.  There are too many secrets and lies in this world.

Holy fucking shit that is absolutely terrifying. I’ve been completely had, hoodwinked, hornswaggled. I had no idea that deserts were being clear cut for solar arrays. That slicing the top off a mountain worked so well to dig coal out, we’ll try that to put up a wind farm. I had no idea that most of these new “green” technologies are mostly fossil fuel in a new and improved package, and some of it even more destructive than the fossil fuel it purports to replace.

Also recommend The Story of Plastic. Spoiler…the vast majority of recyclable plastics are not. And those recycling and anti-littering campaigns that I always thought were the result of altruistic governance? Those are actually the result of hard lobbying by big oil and big ag. So instead of doing the work necessary to to have actual disposable packaging, they push it off on the consumer.

We cannot unfuck ourselves from this.
