Michelle Obama Is Mad at Black Voters, Not Trump Voters: ‘That’s My Trauma’

While Trump is casually referenced from the first minutes and the mood of the country scores the film’s entire conversation, it’s not until roughly two-thirds through the film that she addresses her negative feelings about his 2016 victory directly. Twice, she talks about how painful it is to her that black voters didn’t turn out to vote for Hillary Clinton, calling the decision not to vote more painful to her than those who voted for Trump.
“It takes some energy to go high, and we were exhausted from it. Because when you are the first black anything…” she said, referencing anecdotes from her Becoming book. “So the day I left the White House and I write about how painful it was to sit on that [inauguration] stage. A lot of our folks didn’t vote. It was almost like a slap in the face.”
“I understand the people who voted for Trump,” she continued. “The people who didn’t vote at all, the young people, the women, that’s when you think, man, people think this is a game. It wasn’t just in this election. Every midterm. Every time Barack didn’t get the Congress he needed, that was because our folks didn’t show up. After all that work, they just couldn’t be bothered to vote at all. That’s my trauma.”
It should be no surprise that Becoming isn’t a Trump-bashing attack ad, though some might have wanted that. Even though she’s freed from the scripted proprieties of the White House and is now speaking more casually and freely than she ever did as first lady, it’s not exactly a part of Michelle Obama’s brand to do that.

That’s just fine by her.

Anyway, looks like your husband did get everything done that he wanted to get done – for Wall Street, for the .1%. So why would “your people” show up again for the Democratic Party? AND – identity politics, not issues and records, is what the Democratic Party is counting on for 2020. None of that useless feet to the fire talk, comes back on ya, doesn’t it. Just hold the feet of the voters to the fire. Hey, Hillary not going to do anything for “your people” anyway, so shut the fuck up. Remember? Hillary told Black Lives Matter that if they bothered her, she would only talk to white people. Shook her finger in their faces. So, again, shut the fuck up. Your identity politics does not work as well as you condescendingly thought it would, that’s all.

His lecturing us about the benefits of TPP at NIKE just one of the blows.
And that comment proves they have no clue as to what they are doing wrong. Or at least unwilling to admit it. Until the Democratic party leadership can admit they have failed the rank and file, they are going to continue to struggle with elections. The only thing they have going for them is that tRump is so horrible he makes them look decent in comparison.
And the “liberal” consensus makers would have you believe she would be a great VP. I don’t see it, or even what qualifications she has. But I guess inside the DC bubble, she’s a star.

Michelle Obama – has conned so many people in believing she is a decent human being and is one of the most admired women – just like Shillary conned people before to vote her as one of the most admired women. What is wrong with these people who choose such obvious fake icons. Her speech for Shillary during the 2016 campaign with tears was one of the best con-jobs ever.

She seems to forget Hill’s racial slurs against Bama during the 2008 primary campaign here in SC. That’s one reason Black people soured on HER.
Then Michelle clearly ignores Nobama’s photo-op in Flint, MI which is one reason Black people soured on him and by extension his praise of HER.
Michael Moore showed the damning change of heart about BO in his film Fahrenheit 11/9. Google it and watch. In it, Nobama flies into Flint, to a mostly Black crowd that is delighted their president has come to do something about the water situation, FINALLY. Instead, he gives his usual bullshit speech, drinks some alleged Flint water, tells the assembly it’s ok, then breezes out.
In Moore’s interviews with Flint citizens immediately after, many expressed their dismay and extreme disappointment in Barry. Rather than they savior they had hoped for and expected, he proved he was just as awful as all the local pols, perhaps worse. His callous photo-op demonstrated that he really didn’t care.
So if Michelle is disappointed in Black people, she should look in mirror and then at her feckless husband!
