90-year-old grandma tries to defuse tense confrontation between police and her grandson

Young black man rolls through a stop sign. Ends up face down on the driveway of his grandmothers house.

This shit is tearing me up. I know it’s been happening – well, forever – but with cameras rolling everywhere it’s just more visible.

Nonetheless, seeing it brings me to a place between deep sadness and red hot fury.

      Hi elias,

America was born on the back of racism and will die in the rivers of blood from same.

Any pretense otherwise is whistling past the graveyard.

Grief requires us to know the time we're in. The great enemy of grief is hope. Hope is the four-letter word for people who are unwilling to know things for what they are.

Our time requires us to be hope-free. To burn through the false choice of being hopeful and hopeless. They are two sides of the same con job. Grief is required to proceed.

        From the article:

“I do not fault the officers for drawing their weapons,” James A. Gagliano, CNN law enforcement analyst, said. “When he (Anders) wasn’t compliant they (police) had to be suspicious that there was something more there because he was running away from a ticket for running a stop sign. That’s not normal behavior.”

CNN doesn’t tell you that Gagliano is a former FBI agent. Of course he’s going to say that. And he’s a lying sack of shit, like most of them.

A 19 year old black kid being pursued by the cops pulls into his grandma’s driveway and refuses to get out of the car. How is that not normal behavior when he has a legitimate fear they might kill him just like they did so many others who looked like him? And of course, he wasn’t “compliant.”

I’m so sick of this comply or die tyranny, and that’s exactly what it is–tyranny. The Declaration of Independence has something to say about that.

there are plenty of examples of police brutality against blacks and whites.    there are also plenty of examples of suicide by cop.    it would be who of us to pick another hill to die on

they are claiming the failure to stop at a stop sign happened before the recording.

And striking him in the police car?  How are they going to justify that? Also, he was protesting that he ran the stop sign.  Looks rigged to me.
