Mulvaney: 'Only way to get truly universal care is to throw people in jail'

White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney said Sunday there is only one way to have universal healthcare in the country.

“The only way to get truly universal care is to throw people in jail if they don’t have it,” he said on CBS’s “Face The Nation.” “And we are not going to do that.”

In January, President Trump said a plan to replace ObamaCare would include the goal of having “insurance for everybody.”

Yeah, that’s how they do it in Europe and the other civilized nations!   :sarcasm:

    1. what a piece of shit

These people are not of the human species

…and you think you’re going to stop this simply by ‘pulling a lever’, in a booth, behind a curtain, every 2 years? - Know yourself. And if you need help with that, call the FBI. -  There is only ONE solution to this mess:  New Party !

      3. He gives shit a bad name…

At least human feces has a useful role to carry away toxins within every human. This guy’s role is to pour acid in your eyes whilst stuffing gum up every other orifice.

We’re supposed to heal the world with love… That’s gonna be a tough one.

    2. he forgot part of the equation

cause throwing more people in jail pumps their bottom line in a number of ways, just like military spending

if they threw everyone in jail but the top 30% maybe

but then some of the bottom layer would have to fill the role that the bottom does now, for higher wages

I suppose they can always import more labor from outside the country though

but kind of defeats the purpose

    5. His compassion is overwhelming….

    Well, one other way,

Institute single-payer and tax the crap out of people like you, Mulvaney.

    7. I love this little bit of wisdom in the interview >

“which is to encourage people to buy a policy they want and can afford.”

Want and can afford.  Want and can afford.  For the life of me, it seems like those two words don’t always go together.

      15. Plus one!

    8. And yet, oddly enough…

…our neighbor to the north, Canada, (a) has universal health care and (b) does not achieve it by throwing people in jail.  Therefore, by counter-example, his thesis that “the only way to do that is to throw people in jail”, is disproven.  QED

And of course, his interviewer could not even bother to bring up any counter-examples 9of which there are many, including some with single payer and some with mandated insurance, all of which work very well, cost less and deliver better outcomes overall).  Surprise, surprise.

    9. What exactly is "universal care"..

Is that the Clinton plan of “we can’t have single payor” or is that the corporations owning America and not wanting to loose one of the biggest income generating platforms in America – that being illness and impeding death.

We would not want people to have care, real care.  Where they can go to the doctor before they are dying.  Then corporations couldn’t charge 1,000s of dollars for a pill that allows you to live an additional 30 days (on average).

Tired of all the whining and carrying on by both republicans and democrats.  They both need to put on big kid panties and work for the people.  Yes, us the people, those who vote for them – goddess only knows why anyone here voted for any of these asshats.

    14. The only thing universal about the Trump Administration is the ignorance.

    Damn right.

    18. They don't throw you in jail. In Europe, they take the money out of your

paycheck.  And that is what we should be doing.
