My coloring book – Color Me Stoned – is out!

I’m really excited to announce that my coloring book is now available . I’m calling it “Color Me Stoned: an adult coloring book of cannabis”. The book is a fun, informative A to Z of cannabis strains, each drawing inspired by a different strain of pot. A, for example, is the classic, Acapulco Gold. Z is for the very stoney strain, Zombie OG. Coloring + Cannabis seem like a natural pairing, don’t they?

I’m surprised to have created something like this – especially about marijuana. Until very recently, I hadn’t smoked since I was a teen. But after a couple of decades making documentaries, I found myself gravitating toward doing something completely different – something more mellow for a spell. And this is definitely that! I’ve had a blast drawing and doing “research”.

So if you have a big box of crayons, you’re a fan of the herb or just cannabis-curious, here it is!

I bet people like doing them while partaking.

I’ll buy a handful for Holiday gifts and stocking stuffers.

Might steal it once we’re done defending net neutrality.

          20. Please do! – Be my guest – since I stole it from Liebling – lol

The net neutrality issue is absolutely related to free press, free speech issues, and it’s frightening what’s going on.

      22. Just put it on my Amazon wish list.

I think I’ll end up buying it, but I don’t always make my best online purchasing decisions
much past midnight on Saturday night’s. If you take my meaning.
That said… when… I mean if I do purchase your book,
we have a Music Fest the beginning of the month.
I’ll show it off. Everybody color a page.
      It should go over well.
I’ll direct any query’s to the Amazon page.

      25. What a sweet, charming and timely idea, Tuesday!

It is a great concept.  Love the title and cover design.  Congratulations on making this happen!   This will be an inspired gift for stoner friends.

Most people who use cannabis find it soothing and relaxing, but I am among the unfortunate few who learned, back in the day, that its effect on my mind was the opposite: stimulating to the point of overwhelm, stronger by far than psychedelics.  So in the interest of personal stability and “keeping it all together,” I stopped, even though I have medical conditions that qualify me for medical marijuana  and all the benefits thereof.

Yet, despite the difficulties, I have nothing but the fondest memories and associations with this amazing herb.  You are undoubtedly aware that we have cannabinoid receptors throughout our bodies and  especially in our brains and nervous systems — which means, imo, that it was meant to be, that it is part of the definition of homo sapiens and probably played, and could continue to play, a role in our evolution.  Now that state governments are relinquishing the fearful repression, I hope we will learn more on  how to use this herb to our, and everything on earth’s, advantage.

So thank you!  I’ll be ordering a few as gifts and one for myself just to read and enjoy.

      26. Find a way to also market it at Hempfests.

Hempfests are worldwide now, attended by billions yearly. Sure, they’ve become over-commercialized but in this case adding to the ‘problem’ might be a good thing. Just a thought.

Btw, i made my living by being a pot grower from 1990 till 2015. For most of that time i lived as discreetly as a Jew in Nazi Germany.

As of lately here in Washington State i can be completely ‘out of the closet’ on my history. We now have pot-shops, pot related billboard signs, you-tube ads for a pot shop in our capital and (hopefully), soon to come: Color Me Stoned coloring books!

There is a whole lot about this ‘living in the future’ business one can complain about but the magical direction all things pot related is heading…well you’ll get no conplaints out of me!

        28. One of the inspirations behind this book

came from Mendocino. I had a film in the festival there – very fun! – and after a screening some growers (all women) asked me to tell their story. They’ve been living in a fascinating world that’s changing. I would have loved to document their stories but it was too tricky for me to travel there frequently.

I think Hempfests would be a hoot! I’ll be looking for someone to partner with cause I’m not sure it makes sense for me to pay for a whole booth for a coloring book.

Congrats on getting out of the cannabis closet!
