    N. Korea casts doubt on Trump summit:

I have a couple of my own reasons why NKorea will probably cancel talks between Kim Jong.un and Trump. I’ll allow others to add their reasons why this meeting is apparently heading south.  One reason by  Yonhap stated below: The US going forward with a joint military exercise with SKorea has probably angered Pyongyang.

EARLIER: North Korea on Wednesday called into question a much-anticipated and unprecedented summit between its leader Kim Jong Un and US President Donald Trump, the South’s Yonhap news agency reported.

Pyongyang also cancelled high-level talks due Wednesday with Seoul over the Max Thunder joint military exercises between the US and the South, Seoul said.

The US will “have to undertake careful deliberations about the fate of the planned North Korea-US summit in light of this provocative military ruckus”, Yonhap quoted the North’s official news agency KCNA as saying.

The drills between the two allies’ air forces were a rehearsal for invasion and a provocation at a time when inter-Korean relations were warming, it cited KCNA as adding.

    1. IMO it was never going forward in the first place.

Kim will never give up his nukes, nor will the U.S. of A.

      2. So True

      plus ………

I think that Kim got tired of hearing or reading about Trump bragging that NKorea would never have nukes. This all boils down to a battle between two egomaniacs. Very little room for give and take negotiations.

    3. Oh well

So much for that Nobel peace prize.

I suspect killing the Iran deal didn’t do tRump any favors with NK either.

      6. that's one reason

I can only suggest that Trump might ask to borrow Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize for awhile. He sure the hell won’t be able to earn one for himself.

Kim Jong.un understands what Trump just with the Iran Deal along with Bolton’s radical views abroad. Kim has stated that he doesn’t want to end up like Libya. Kim knows the West’s objective with Iran and NKorea. In good faith, Kim released three US prisoners. He even put out there a gesture to shut down a nuke site. He made peace with SKorea. Even as crazy evil Kim is, he appeared to be trying to prevent regime change and destruction while seeking some trade off during his summit meeting with Trump. That’s usually how those things work. Meanwhile Trump did nothing but prematurely bragged about this and that. In which Kim already knew that about Trump. So now, it appears that Kim played Trump by dangling a juicy carrot and watched Trump fall all over himself. One never knows but that summit meeting may still take place and if it does, Kim sure will bring his demands to the table.

        7. Agreed

In my opinion, the Libya comment was completely tone-deaf, but what does one expect from Bolton, really?

Kim is evil, but he’s rational, if one can be both, and not stupid. He has been talking with South Korea and they have been discussing economic issues. I’m sure he would have no problem with economic modernization if he can do that and stay in power. But staying in power is going to require something to deter the US empire, nukes fit the bill.

          8. He has been talking with South Korea

He’s certainly more rational than Trump! Even smarter too, it appears. I never thought that I’d be saying that a year ago.

As long as SKorea shares in military drills with the US, Kim won’t seek peace with SKorea. I knew that once Trump jumped into the picture after Pres Moon and Kim began discussing cooperation between the two slices of Korea, that it would go down in smoke. In fact, why would anyone want Trump to join them at the table? Unless there’s a golf course needing Trump’s name plastered on it.

    9. Another reason

since Trump kept broadcasting that if Kim didn’t meet all of Trump’s demands, he’d walk out. Well then, why bother holding a give and take  meeting, right? Besides, China seems more willing to work with NKorea again.
