(The Hill) Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden leads President Trump by 6 points in North Carolina with just four days to go until Election Day, according to a new NBC News/Marist poll released on Friday.

Democrats have become increasingly bullish on their chances of winning North Carolina, a key battleground state that Trump carried by nearly 4 points in 2016. The latest NBC News/Marist poll shows Biden with the support of 52 percent of likely voters in the Tar Heel State, while Trump trails at 46 percent.

Biden’s lead in North Carolina is driven in part by strong support among college-educated white voters, a group that Trump won by a nearly 20-point margin four years ago. Biden now has the advantage with those voters, leading Trump 61 percent to 38 percent.

Biden is also performing significantly better among seniors than Hillary Clinton in 2016, when Trump won voters 65 and older in the state by a 23-point margin. The NBC News/Marist poll currently shows Trump and Biden statistically tied with those voters, garnering 50 percent and 49 percent support, respectively.

I just don’t see trump winning if he is losing states like NC. especially with early voting in the volumes we are seeing.

@n2doc The only question now is by how much. It’s the pandemic and everything associated with it. Covid cases spiking like mad are the coffin nails for Trump’s presidency, and he’s the one who built the coffin in the first place. All Biden had to do was to stay out of sight and out of mind, and Trump made that easy.

      Glad to hear it.

I would like to remind you that U.S. health insurance companies do not contribute anything to health care. They are only a PARASITIC middle man receiving an undeserved cut of "FREE MONEY".

I have a feeling a lot of these polls are way off. I agree with Michael Moore’s formula. Cut Biden’s lead in half and then that number is within 4 points of the margin of error.

The one poll this week showing Biden with a 17 point lead in Wisconsin? Yeah, that’s not happening.

@jerry611 They really weren’t wrong in 2016, no matter what people who don’t understand polls say. And this ain’t 2016. For one thing, Hillary never hit 50% in any of the swing states or in national polls, there were more undecided or unwilling voters, and Trump was the challenger.

Now he’s the incumbent. He is the establishment because he’s the fucking President of the United States. He’s failed miserably on dealing with the pandemic, and he’s trailing in the state polls by over twice the margin he was with Hillary. Cutting Biden’s lead in half and then adding 4 points to Trump’s total would give Trump the victory, but I think Moore’s just plain wrong this time.

We’ll know soon enough. Probably no later than 10pm Eastern Tuesday night, when they call Michigan for Biden. Probably Ohio as well, and it’s over.

“Pepper spray” sounds so much more organic and natural than “tear gas”.

This has a name, actually– the Shy Tory effect.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shy_Tory_factor

I think that the reason for this is that conservatives tend toward borderline sociopathic personalities (no where near all, but enough) and find it hard to square with with what they learned in Sunday School.

I’d missed it on the news. According to her, people were blocking traffic and something else I can’t remember (I hate getting old), something that was putting people in danger. Today people were around the courthouse, shouting about people getting out to vote. I yelled that I hadn’t yet, but was going to shortly (Mama had a doctor appointment). Anyway, people were honking like crazy, and everyone looked upbeat.

I meant to add that I don’t think pepper spray was the answer, but even in this mostly rural county, police think they’re all SWAT members facing the entire cartels of Mexico and South America. 🙁
