Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday called for White House senior adviser Stephen Miller to resign after leaked emails appeared suggest that he promoted white nationalist literature and offensive immigration stories.
“Stephen Miller, Trump’s architect of mass human rights abuses at the border (including child separation & detention camps w/ child fatalities) has been exposed as a bonafide white nationalist,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted.
“He’s still at the White House shaping US immigration policy. Miller must resign. Now,” she added.
The tweet comes after a report from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) revealed that Miller shared white nationalist content with right-wing news website Breitbart and worked to guide the outlet’s coverage.

The truth is, there’s no such thing as being “anti-Fascist.” Either you are a decent human being with a conscience, or you are a fascist.

I didn’t realize he was trying to hide this.
The White House dismissed the report, saying that the SPLC “is an utterly-discredited, long-debunked far-left smear organization” and is “beneath public discussion.”
Sounds like he’s not going to resign. Not surprising. That’s the irony of these racism gotchas. They’re most effective when it’s a minor faux pas committed by an otherwise decent person. Actual bigots are immune because they don’t care. They’ll have to drag him out kicking and screaming. The chance of that happening will depend on how much media attention this gets.

The Trump Administration’s defense is to smear the organization publishing the emails, not questioning the accuracy of the content of the emails themselves. Gee, where did they get that idea?

The Trump administration is proud of what they are doing which is why they have this pretty much open white nationalist running their immigration policy.

Everyone already knew that Miller is an anti-immigrant nativist. That is why he was hired by Trump in the first place. We just may not have known that he was a bonafide white nationalist. Something tells me Donald will not care and will use this to solidify his base. What base is that, you ask? 🙂
They are called 'human' rights not "if politicians do not feel threatened" rights. Many politicians see national sovereignty/security as more important because they protect their power and wealth. Human rights often do just the opposite.
National issues (slavery/racism, income inequality, pandemics and pathetic health care, weak unions) are not solved with more states' rights. Global problems (climate change, migration, trade, war, pandemics) are not resolved with more national sovereignty.
