Our First Stand: Save Health Care, January 15

Our First Stand: Save Health Care, January 15
    Bernie 2016

At a time when the United States remains the only major country on earth not to guarantee health care to all as a right, the Republicans want to throw nearly 30 million people off of health insurance, make massive cuts to Medicaid and defund Planned Parenthood. At the same time, in the midst of a grotesque and growing level of income and wealth inequality, they want obscene tax breaks for the top one-tenth of 1 percent.

On Sunday, January 15, Democratic members of Congress, trade unions, senior groups, health care activists and all those who believe in economic and social justice are organizing a day of action to tell Republicans loudly and clearly: You are not going to get away with it.

    3. As an independent business owner, I couldn't partake

in any  benefits related to ObamaCare. The software flow charts that are part and parcel of California Covered website are so badly designed that even attempting to partake of the program would have left me open to penalties including prison time, some time on down the road.

And many of my friends who believe they have benefited would have benefited simply by having the information that they qualified for MediCal here in California. As that is the program they were guided into. (And few of them have been told of the reality that should they use their MediCal for some major health situation, that  their estate, such as it is, would be hit and hit hard, to make repayments to the government after they die. So much for leaving a small bank account and small home to their kids.)

And it isn’t merely that I couldn’t become covered by the ACA. In 2016,  I also saw a fifteen to twenty percent falling off in terms of my business’ income, as with the government mandating that most people must put a huge chunk of their discretionary income into the pockets of Big Insurers, then they can’t often support a firm that offers books and counseling services.

      5. read the link I just posted

this is why they wont fix health care, and instead we get bullshit and more bullshit.

If its private in a country, it has to be profitable, which means that all measures of general application affecting trade in services have to conform with the goals of the GATS. They have to support international trade in services.
