      2. ok, what are the nazi things trump has done so far?

      1. Hitler was appointed Chancellor Jan 1933.   Trump took office Jan 2017.

      2. Hitler immediately asked for dissolution of the Reichstag.  (Trump equivalent = ?)

      3. New elections scheduled for Mar 1933.   (Trump equivalent = ?)

      4. The Reichstag was burned 6 days before the scheduled election.  (Trump equiv = ?)

      5. Nazis and Hitler blame communists and start arresting communists within hours.  (Trump equiv = ?)

      6. Reichstag Fire Decree approved the same day: It suspended all civil liberties in the German constitution, including habeas corpus, freedom of expression, freedom of the press, the right of free association and public assembly, the secrecy of the post and telephone, the protection of property and the home, and transferred powers of the German states to the Reich.

      (Trump equiv = ?)

      7. In March 1933 the Reichstag passed the Enabling Act (left parties/non-nazis in the Reichstag were mostly not allowed to vote or threatened to get them to vote the ‘right’ way).  The Enabling Act allowed Hitler’s cabinet to enact legislation without the Reichstag voting.  IOW, the Reichstag voted to make Hitler/the Nazi party dictator.

So in less than three months Hitler was running a dictatorship and had arrested thousands of commies — the very first targets of his killing spree, btw.

So far Trump has made a lot of noise, said some uncouth things, but the main action I see his admin taking is putting out a draconian budget draft which CUTS ALMOST EVERY SOCIAL PROGRAM CURRENTLY FUNDED, often entirely (IOW, cuts entire programs).

Such as e.g. Legal Services corp. (Legal aid to the poor) and Amtrak and AmeriCorps and Corp for public broadcasting and low-income energy assistance and….find your own

      http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2017/03/16/what-does-trump-budget-eliminate/99223182/

While making sure the oil pipeline he was personally invested in went through, of course.  And giving more funding to charter schools, and…

It’s all about the (privatized) money, honey.  IMO the “civil rights” thing is currently about drawing attention away from the money issues.   (Though as we know, without money, it often happens people find they are treated as though they have no human rights — but it’s about the money primarily.  People with the same color/gender/sexual proclivities and lots of money generally maintain their rights and freedom. )

        8. Think what a good thing it would have been for so many if the German people

had been warned that Hitler was a distinct possibility before he took office.

          9. thought crime you mean? i think arrest for that is still currently

inconstitutional — but times are changing and little to do with trump
besides which:  hitler was in prison after the putsch and wrote a little book about his intentions, so there was plenty of warning:  but the ruling class installed him anyway.  because they preferred fascism to communism, same as it ever was.

don’t blame the public: the Nazis never had majority power until the ruling class collaborated.

          10. Yes, I liken it to FL 93 whose passengers took some heroic actions

to stop the 911 terrorists on board and possibly prevent another catastrophe. But they had the benefit of information from phone calls with loved ones about what had happened on earlier flights and could make a reasoned guess that they were going to die anyway and potentially take a lot of others with them if they didn’t act.

      5. This is a pretty extreme example of Free Speech.

The billboard is in very poor taste, is disrespectful to our President, and is costing the owner a bundle while doing nothing except causing controversy. BUT, we do live in a country with freedom of expression, and there should be no action taken against the owner, by anyone. If the owner wants to leave it up, let him.

As far as the message comparing Trump to Hitler, the owner really missed the mark there. Trump has talked like a bully, and made a lot of stupid, and false, claims, but he has really not done very much yet. He will probably find a way to cut benefits to poor people, and send a few more illegals home, but he will actually accomplish little of what he has promised. He might even figure out a way to let his rich buddies steal a little more from the public trough, but most of his grand ideas will stay in the talking stage. Congress and the public will shoot him down often. He will claim victory, but will lose “bigly” on most of his schemes.

He isn’t as smart, or conniving, as Clinton would have been. She would not have appeared as controlling or dictatorial as he does, but she would have accomplished a lot of mischief behind the scenes. She knows how to handle the insider politics necessary for such maneuvers. Her bark would not have been a nasty as his, but her bite would have been much worse.

        6. I think…..

…. saying “25 million votes were stolen” or “they wiretapped me” is pretty extreme speech also and a lot more dangerous.  And pretty clearly, outright lies.

        Not my president.

Drump, like hitler, is an eugenic freak.

            Are you an American citizen?

            No?  Then not your President

Yes? Did you vote for him?

              22. Answers…

              1. Are you an American citizen?

              YES

              1. No?  Then not your President (N/A)
              2. Yes? Did you vote for him?

              NO

              1. Yes?  Then he’s your President (N/A)
              2. No?  Then he’s still your President

By virtue of a stolen Primary, the election choice was false. Therefore, he’s an illegitimate choice who polled under the choice of Bernie Sanders. Your conclusions are baseless as to whether we accept this false choice.

Trump is an errand boy… sent by grocery clerks… to collect the bill.

By vitrue of the Constitution, the man is President of the United States.  That is all that counts. Holding your breath and pouting isn’t productive.

        12. "Respect" – what is formally demanded –

goes to the office, not the individual. To suggest that an elected politician deserves respect simply because they hold the office is troubling.

A politician, regardless of the office, earns the respect of others through their actions; their veracity; even their demeanor.

Trump hasn’t earned an iota and deserves no respect.

      13. the sign is stupid

Trump is alot of things, megalomaniac, spoiled brat, dirt bag, but a Nazi is going too far.  When ds go too far, ala russia hacked the election, Trump is a russian puppet, the resistance loses credibility.

there is plenty of circumstantial evidence about collusion.

Be a shame if there was a fire.
