Honestly, I am sick after reading about this shit all day – but I felt that I needed to do my civic duty and try to understand some of the bull shit that’s going on right now.  The pandemic, we all know, is raging throughout the U.S. – my own state of Maine is likely on its way to a historic struggle.  People are dying… people are dying who shouldn’t be dying.  This is largely because other people are not wearing masks, isolating, or doing anything differently.  People just can’t be bothered.  I mean, what, this all started back in March?  That is way too long to care.  We’re lucky if Americans have an attention span lasting longer than five minutes.  Thousands dying every day – and yet our corporate Government continues to sit around with its collective thumb up its stupid ass.  Except for, of course, when they try to stir us up with all the “SHUTDOWN!” drama.  Yep, it might happen – and yep, it would suck – but they could EASILY make it a non-issue by passing some kind of fucking budget deal before the 11th hour… any year.  No, really, they could.  They could also have put together a UBI, student loan forgiveness, a working healthcare plan, an infrastructure plan… any of this, on any number of previous years.  You may take note: THEIR pay is not getting cut.  THEIR benefits are not being eliminated.  THEY do not have to worry about rent, mortgage and/or eviction.  THEY do not have to spend hours every day waiting in bread lines, or waiting for the god damn unemployment office to have a single person available to talk to them.  It’s really, really fucked up.

So, after having grudgingly voted for Biden (I didn’t, but America did, overall) because he is maybe slightly less insane/greedy/incompetent/insert adjective than Trump (maybe), Americans are now wondering what, if anything, will actually change.  I wish I had good news to share on this, or optimism.  I suppose I do have some – there are apparently working vaccines that we will apparently have available soon without having to bankrupt ourselves to pay for (apparently!).

On the stimulus front, we have one of the most corrupt Speakers of the House in history negotiating with one of the most corrupt Senate Majority Leaders in history.  Apparently, conservatives are eager to make a deal for some 908 billion or so.  What’s included?  Well, the details seem to be lacking – as they always do with this shit, unless you want to read a 2,000 page omnibus bill – which none of the Senators or congress members will read either.  Still, what we do know is that republicans are pushing hard for a corporate liability shield.  Essentially, they want to make it illegal to sue corporations who acted inappropriately, recklessly, in ways that endangered their workers and their workers lives.  Democrats are apparently less resistant to this idea than they were a month ago.  Why?  Well, because the “states and towns” need money.  Fair enough.  But where is all of the money going to the “states and towns” actually going?  Hey, that’s a good question.  I don’t know either.

They will likely recreate or somehow expand the poorly named paycheck protection program.  So, lots of people with money (and a few with very little money) will actually get to borrow some money.  That’s great.  I’m all for lending money to those who need it.  You know, like Kanye West and Donald Trump, who got millions from the last round!  Making America uhh… great, or something.

Trump continues to insist that Biden cheated.  I don’t know if he did (in the general – I know they all did in the primaries) and I don’t really give a shit, either.  Trump or Biden… the American people fucking lost.

Here is the thing – the entire Senate and/or Congress could have actually prevented many, many deaths.  They could have kept us from getting to this point, if they had been able to work out a deal to actually benefit the American people.  Yet it is their reckless, personal ambition, greed and corruption that have fucked us as much as anything else.  Much like pretending climate change does not exist – conservatives have become experts in denying the reality of the pandemic that is actually killing people in America every fucking day.  Masks?!? Mind control devices!  Vaccines?  They’re putting chips in there!  I mean the bad kind!  Not Salt and Vinegar!  Ugh…

The gist of it… is that we are in a very fucking shitty predicament – and there is no fucking functional adult within our government who is going to start digging us out.  There is no one with even a 100th of the integrity or compassion that FDR had.  We have a few progressives, outnumbered by a circus of ass clowns.

So, pardon my rant, pardon my negativity, tell me to go fuck myself, whatever.  Just felt like ranting.

Oh why isn’t the government doing more to “save lives”? Like becoming even more authoritarian and totalitarian police state? Isn’t that what you are asking and hoping for, in actual practice?

In the big picture, I support the lockdowns, but not for the reason you expect. Not because of a virus, but because they are very effective in destroying the horror that people still consider “economy”.

You care about saving lives, really? What about all the lives destroyed by capitalism as usual, from day to day? Not only all the deaths, but even more the zombified “life” of consumerist wage slavery… viral myopia… as if that was the main cause of physical and spiritual death. On the contrary, acting as a catalyst to make the capitalist system of death collapse and cease bit sooner, and in relative soft and benign way (compared to alternatives). So that life can continue and improve, so that our children and their children have hope.

If ranting helps to get some shit out of your system and feel better, good. But it’s short lasting remedy. No worries, relax and let healing come. By starting to feel better, you become part of the healing process, a healer. It’s simple as that.

      Aloha!

      No getting around it.

I would like to remind you that U.S. health insurance companies do not contribute anything to health care. They are only a PARASITIC middle man receiving an undeserved cut of "FREE MONEY".

Hope you have a merry christmas or happy holidays or whatever before 2021 arrives.

I don’t know what 2021 has in store, but I don’t think it’s going to be boring.
