Part-time Program Director for Health Care for All-Washington, a state-wide single payer advocacy group, is seeking a creative, passionate, and effective part-time Program Assistant to develop our grassroots network as we build the movement forhigh quality, sustainable, publicly funded health care for ALL Washingtonians.
This is a part-time contractual position for 500 hours within the first six months with prospects for growth. The pay ranges from $30 to $40 hourly, based upon previous experience. Oversight and support is provided by an Executive Committee of four Board officers. Preferred candidate will have experience with health care issues, volunteer training, and movement building.

–Experience working on issue-based advocacy campaigns
–Experience working on legislative politics and interacting with state government
–Excellent oral and written communication skills including being comfortable with public speaking, training and interacting with all types of people
–Ability to manage one’s time independently and operate with minimal supervision
–Ability to motivate and activate others
–Ability to travel to different areas of Washington State
–Experience with social media, e.g., Facebook and Twitter
–Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
–Experience with healthcare reform issues.
–Knowledge of how to manage and grow a non-profit organization, including fundraising
Responsibilities include working with volunteers to:
–Implement campaign strategies developed by the Board of HCFA-WA that advance its mission
–Develop and maintain relationships with HCFA-WA supporters, other community-based organizations, and
–Build power for the campaign through outreach, creating networks, and raising funds
–Grow the organization by identifying, training, and developing leaders to become successful volunteers, advocates,
and fundraisers for HCFA-WA
–Interact with legislators and state agencies to promote HCFA-WA goals.
–Develop and maintain strong public relations strategy including framing, messaging, press releases, reports, blogs,
and other communications strategies that advance campaign narrative
