      1. Right next to Bill Pullman and Morgan Freeman, on Pelosi's list.

What if I want to tell you to leave me and my beloved ones in peace

But you only understand the language of the sword

I let the blade do the talking

So my tongue shall become iron

And my words the mighty roar of war

        3. I would rate him next to Kiefer "Designated Survivor" Sutherland

who is not that great actor IMHO. OK, not great.

      2. jeez, I brought up Lilly Ledbetter as a joke a while back to show that they

were riding nearly-decades-old laws; now they’re pretending it’s signature legislation that defines a whole 8 years

        6. that's been the story since day 1. over at sv, whenever i asked when obama

was going to get busy and DO SOMETHING FOR THE PEOPLE besides bail out banksters, there was a standard response:

        1. give him time, its only been a few weeks, months, years
        2. he can’t, the republicans block everything he tries
        3. look at all the wonderful stuff he’s already done (with lily ledbetter as the icing on that glorious cake — rinse and repeat for years)!

Fuck lily ledbetter, I say.  if that and obamacare are his ‘legacies’ so much the worse for him.

          8. HALF A LOAF HALF A LOAF HALF A LOAF HALF A LOAF HALF A LOAF HALF A LOAF

I think in retrospect that’s what killed the Dems in 2010–not even DWS, who was just another run-of-the-mill pol who thought she was lib enough and could take big-donor money without getting corrupted like all those other saps in Washington

see, when the Dems defended the ACA, they were under strict “instructions” not to defend it by invoking Medicare or single payer or even the public option; there was some talk of the door now being open to real reform, but basically if you “admitted” that the ACA had problems it’d diminish Obama’s radiance and make the Dems look like they’d stopped well short of where they could; if voters could see problems with the ACA, then it clearly could only because lefties had been “talking it down”

and besides the real messes would only hit 2016-7–why, there was plenty of time!

            10. for sure & totally agree. aca was a pig in a poke, but so far as i can see its

been a godsend to the insurance and medical corps so not sure why they’re so agin it

      4. Interesting you should bring this up. I was just wondering

where is all the gushing press after Obama’s farewell speech? I’ve seen no comentary – it doesn’t appear in “Google new”s mashup.

Maybe on trhe 11PM news shows.

      14. As the saying goes

“The democrats fall in love, the republicans fall in line”. Pelosi has been in love for 8 years to a below average president and because of the likes of her, hers, and Her, we have Donald *&%$ing Trump!
