I love JPR and hate to see the current problems, but the latest version is in no way an improvement.

So Far From Heaven, who was the one who had more time to work on the problems, lost internet service in a storm. Deadpool, like me, has a full-time job which limits the time he can devote to the site.
There is some kind of software in Word Press, the new platform, that is causing the problems. There are these things, mysterious to me, called plug-ins that can be added or removed to make the site’s spam filters and security systems work the way we want them to work.
My understanding is that these problems with being able to post and to curse like a sailor are resolvable, but it takes hours of work to figure what to leave in and what to leave out. Those are the admins’ priorities right now, I know.
Best I can do for now is go all English and say, “They’ll get ’round to it!” Or maybe:

So I’m simply impressed that anyone here knows enough about it to even try to fix things. Any actual fixing that gets done will be the cherry on top.

I dont mind the new look, but….
Maybe we can try a different format? If need be, I can pitch in for hosting/upgrading expenses or whatever. In the meantime.. this is bugging me enough that I’m going to try to research all the technical “stuff” and by “stuff” I mean….

With that knowledge, we can deduce that forum functionality is implemented with a plugin.
Common forum plugins for WordPress are as follows:
bbPress – https://wordpress.org/plugins/bbpress/
BuddyPress – https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress/
Discussion Board – https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-discussion-board/
CM Answers – https://wordpress.org/plugins/cm-answers/
One suspects that the current forum is implemented with either bbPress or BuddyPress.
The new overloads will have to confirm the details.
