Poll: Registered Democrats prefer Sanders over Oprah

Oprah Winfrey is less popular among Democrats than Joe Biden, poll says
    Ben Jacobs
    The Guardian

And the TV star – whose speech at the Golden Globes led to fevered speculation she would run for president – would be beaten by both Biden and Bernie Sanders in a four-way Democratic primary that also included Elizabeth Warren, the RABA Research survey says.

In the poll of 345 registered Democrats about the 2020 election, the former vice-president was better liked than any of his most prominent potential competitors. RABA interviewed the Democratic voters between 10 and 11 January via an online survey. The margin of error was five points.

Some 76% of Democratic voters had a somewhat favorable or very favorable opinion of the former vice-president. In contrast, only 67% of Democratic voters felt the same about Winfrey, leaving her even with the leftwing former Democratic hopeful Sanders and ahead of Massachusetts senator Warren, whom only 58% of Democratic voters had a very favorable or somewhat favorable opinion of.

I assume Mr. Sander’s margin would be larger if you sampled voters in general and not just Democrats.

    1. I find it amazing that a former Vice president is barely ahead

Bernie was a no name senator and Biden was vice President for 2 terms, and to see him so close to Bernie in his own party is amazing to see. When you take independents and other voters outside of the party Bernie would be a better candidate for the general. I might be one of the few who would love to see Oprah run. Run Oprah run. split that establishment vote for us and make it an easier win.

    2. Corporate Democratic Party Establishment Is Pushing Anybody-But-Bernie Sanders

That is why we are getting this latest of Oprah Winfrey.

      5. Exactly correct.

    3. I believe you are right…

if they polled independents the numbers would be much higher.

      6. Huge plus one!

    4. Bernie will be the nominee in 2020, and the establishment needs to stop

trotting out identity politicos at a pace usually associated with sausage-production, because their desperate bid to find a third way bot more popular than Bernie is going NOWHERE.

"Someone hacks the DNC allowing all of America to see how the DNC operates as one of the most corrupt political machines in national history. Ergo, Hillary Clinton should be installed as President by judicial fiat. And if you do not agree to this scheme you deserve to be brought up on charges of treason because fascism." - NUGrrl, december 2016 “Once a person has been determined to be an UNTRUSTWORTHY LIAR, their pretend stances on important issues are simply not relevant to rational discussion.” – Ida Briggs, September 2016

      7. I think the club still has a quid pro quo with the Corrupters.

Big Dem donors will never tolerate the sort of re-distribution of wealth required to equalize opportunity and dial down the aperture of the wealth gap.

I’ve really seen nothing that suggests The Club’s exclusionary clauses and loopholes are as open as the where in 2015.

“The changes” after their 2015 debacle are mostly  establishment protecting new rules.  They will now exclude from consideration that which popular sentiment wants removed/reformed, and they’ll do that by precluding from support and candidacy Dems who criticize 3rd-Way practice.

I'm not going to argue  ...  just post 2 faux-facs and I'll see them in the morning.

        9. Which is why I doubt they can be "reformed".

        • *Obligatory disclaimer - when I say "Democratic Party" I mean the DNC - the Clintons and the un-elected people and the consultants and the lobbyists and the corporations who actually run things.  The people who work and vote and are registered as "D" are no more the actual party than Trekkies are Star Trek.   Extra credit - the Democratic Party gets to actually fuck up your life. When you vote for it.
You think the only reason that people won't vote for a warmongering Third Way fracking-enabling cluster bomb throwing H-1B increasing lying pandering corporate and Wall Street shill who says she has no problem putting abortion rights on the table is because we are mad about Bernie?  Um, nope.
