What is the purpose of “superdelegates”?

I think the question should be: Why do we still have super delegates? It’s time to fix the corruption.

I'm done, It's over for now. It was nice meeting all the cool people here.

As long as there are superdelegates who can override the voters, the primaries can be “fixed”.  Personally, I have not “given up” on the primaries – what the fuck does that mean?  That is a straw man argument.  IMO.  Does my vote not count if I am not all wide-eyed and trusting?  FFS.

S0 –  I will vote for Bernie and send Bernie what little I can – but- and this, IMO, is the real important take-away here – if Bernie is not the candidate I will not be voting Blue.  Has fuck all to do with cheating and rigging, although I see that is the new meme – I will not vote for a Vichy Dem, even if that Vichy Dem won fair and square.  That is what the DNC is trying to counter, methinks – the DNC wants everyone who supports Bernie to vote blue no matter who..  NOPE.  The cheating and rigging is not the fucking problem.  The Vichy Dems and the DNC and the Democratic Party are the fucking problem.  Corporate Third Way war-hawks.  Why would I vote for one of them?  Dumb-asses.

We took reddit off our good links list because it is now Vote for the Blue No Matter Who.  This is a fine example.  Oh, and how many of the “independent” states let Hillary launder their money back to Herself and toss them a 1% thanks, sucker fee?

Interesting replies –  This sums it up, for me –

It’s 57 individual parties that all rely on the same billionaire donors, participate in shared money laundering schemes, and look to the same corrupt leadership to advance their careers.

And that is how the DNC rolls.

Well, he’s wrong on the first two counts.

      1. The DNC can unilaterally pick the nominee in a backroom in 2020. They did it in 2016. Why wouldn’t they do it in 2020?
      2. The superdelegates can step in on a second ballot and override the voters in 2020. That is precisely why they still have super delegates.

And as for the state parties controlling the DNC, he has that assbackwards. The DNC dictates what the state parties can and can’t do. What’s written on paper is one thing. What actually happens is another.

Agreed.  I read the subject line, and my first thought was “now who’s being naive?”
