The GD baby boomers who take their cue from TV will be willing to blame anything and anybody but their beloved system.

..but it goes way beyond that.

Many of the people saying Russia is behind these protests were themselves out in the streets during the Sixties—and their parents said Russia was behind the marches they went on.

Then Kent State happened, and they got scared and went scuttling back into the system. And we all know that the most religious person is usually the convert, and that’s the case here.

They absolutely have to do anything to exonerate their beloved system, the system that has, like the media,in many cases taken the place of their parents. What’s happening now can’t be the fault of the system, just like Trump’s election couldn’t have been.In their minds, angry people marching for justice or the election of an uncoronated and unanointed president just can’t be—there is no room for that in the theme park of the mind in which they exist.

And the word system implies an orderly functioning process. We are seeing two simultaneous system failures on a massive scale:

          1. No ability to salvage our decrepit for profit medical response to the CV-19 pandemic.

          2. No way to shut off hate talk media seething in the brains of trigger happy racist cops.

even people who protested Indonesia and Nicaragua: thing is, they came to associate interventionism with Nixon, Reagan, both Bushes–therefore, with Republicans; the Dem party’s mechanisms–downplaying LBJ, excusing Senators who vote for war, residual Camelot nostalgia–were still in full effect and compatible with protesting Republicans’ wars

but elected Dems have always been preponderantely hawkish, and decades later even the Winter Soldier and Contra cocaine investigator thought he could ride Iraq into the Presidency; the Obama WH turned them buddy-buddy with Pentagon and intel officers who talked their language of “right to protect” and rolling back dictatorships (who’d hooked with Russia out of necessity)–support the Iran deal, domestic spaying, and toppling Assad and you were golden

so then a “hostile foreign power”* gets fingered as being behind the political Chicxulub impact that broke their brains …

          * never “enemy power,” Congress hasn’t legally declared war since 1942, largely because we might LOSE

@mizzgrizz The ugly truth is that neoliberals like Rice, Obama, and Biden, actually agree with Trump that private property must be protected and anti-Empire protests must be crushed. To wit, remember how Obama crushed Occupy Wall Street. Trump sends in MPs, Obama sent in bulldozers.

Susan Rice has absolutely no qualms about police murdering black people, anymore than Obama did. He certainly didn’t care enough to actually try to do anything about it, the worthless sack of shit.

Trying to deflect from their failures. They had eight years of the Obama administration to try to fix things and instead accomplished little to nothing, preferring neoliberal economic religion to actually helping the lower and middle classes.

p.s. I’m at the tail end of the baby boom, and I don’t believe this bs for one second.

Truth is I don’t claim any generation because it is used as another tool to cause infighting and assigning blame on each other instead of the ones who deserve the blame.  Same with the black/white, christian/atheist,  abortion/right to life fights, and even the M4A/private insurance debate although mostly about private profit is also being used to divide us.  No middle ground can be allowed, everything must be black and white, because that would allow both sides to work together and we would realize we have more in common than not.  The powers that be know if they keep us fighting each other we won’t have time to fight them.  Take the latest protests about George Floyd, what are we all talking about?  Not Floyd, everyone’s talking about the destruction, most of which is probably started by outside agitators.  Any place we let them introduce a wedge allows them to keep us fighting the wrong people.

I cant bring myself to condemn destruction of police stations, banks, corporate infrastructure etc. I know police cars are being torched by some of the angry protestors as well as by police themselves, who expect taxpayers will buy them new and shiny cars and play their own weirdo psy-ops games for what ever their sick motivations are.

So, what is this talk about “outside agitators?”, exactly? Who is outsider? Isn’t the talk of outsider agitators exactly what TPTB are feeding to sow division and mistrust?

            Aloha!

I thought Putin was Trump’s BFF, yet these protests are against the orange bunkering bitch as much as racist cop killers, so why would Russia want to hurt their boy by fanning the flames?? StupidGate indeed!

for conservatives nationalists everywhere. “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. Focus on that scary foreign entity that I (the man behind the curtain) tell you is really the cause of all of our problems.”

National problems (slavery/racism, income inequality, pathetic health care, weak unions) are not solved with more states' rights. Global problems (climate change, migration, trade, war, pandemics) are not solved with more national sovereignty.

A CEO, an American worker and an immigrant sit at a table with a dozen cookies in front of them. The CEO grabs 11 of them, then leans over and warns the worker, "Watch out for the immigrant. He is trying to get your cookie."

As Demented Ragean was not sad when the USSR collapsed.

And since Russia is pushing their propaganda on any internet platform that will take their money, (that means you Zuckerberg) you could kind of say that Putin is pushing the unrest.

But he or his agents didn’t murder George Floyd. He didn’t bailout the filthy rich with our tax dollars. He didn’t ignore the coronavirus in the US and allowed it to spread.

But I guess everyone needs a scapegoat.
