      MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. The third air assault regiment of the Novorossiysk Airborne Division will be set up in Crimea by December 1 this year, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday, following a meeting of the Airborne Force Military Council held in Kubinka outside Moscow.

      “In the 2021 training year [December 1, 2020 – October 30, 2021], the third air assault regiment of the Pskov Guards Air Assault Division was set up and by December 1 this year work will be completed to transform the Kamyshin Separate Guards Air Assault Unit into an air assault regiment that will make part of the Novorossiysk Guards Mountain Air Assault Division,” the statement says.

      MOSCOW, Nov 17 (Reuters) – Russia said on Wednesday it would deploy a new paratroop regiment on annexed Crimea by the beginning of December and complained about a British deal to boost Ukraine’s navy which it said showed British military activities were expanding near its borders.

      –before Khrushchev (from the Ukraine himself) unilaterally decided to hand it over to the Ukraine.  Don’t know what the big fuss here is about.

      Whoever controls the Crimea has the second largest claim to oil under the Black Sea (Turkey has the largest claim).  Such claims go 200 miles off shore or half way to another nation’s coast line.  The potential for oil under the Black Sea is huge and whoever controls the Crimea has the second largest claim to such oil given Crimea’s coastline.
