      @pademd

      Hi pademd,

      The sooner the “Thin Blue Line” disintegrates, the sooner the 1% will begin living in fear.  Nothing changes in America until the 1% are Crushed.

      TAT

      Grief requires us to know the time we're in. The great enemy of grief is hope. Hope is the four-letter word for people who are unwilling to know things for what they are.

      Our time requires us to be hope-free. To burn through the false choice of being hopeful and hopeless. They are two sides of the same con job. Grief is required to proceed.

      Sooner or later we all sit down to a banquet of consequences.

      @TAT I think if the protestors would picket the 1% personally, at every outing to restaurants, stores, galleries, etc., then maybe things would improve.

        Thousands at their doorsteps. Looting wall street ! Looting Whole Foods amazon.   What is sad it they always seem to end up targeting local businesses  even Starbucks, they may be owned by an asshole oligarch but he employs locals and pays  and gives better benefits the most. In Portland they actually did a pretty good job of targeting going after banks and big box stores

      And I’m sorry because I forget her name, but the women that got pulled over in Texas and complained to the cop and ended up dead in her cell 12 hours later. – Sandra Bland, just remembered.

      Just the last few years here. And I’m sure, many, many more whose names I have forgot, or never made it to the front pages so to speak.

        Thank you for that list. I have looked for one before, but couldn’t find one. I want to keep a running tally and expand each story.

        Freddie Gray gets to me the most because I am paralyzed. I knew that when the cops tried to make  stand him up, they had paralyzed him in a so called “rough ride’. Wasn’t anything rough about it. They fucking paralyzed that young man. The incredible pain he was in before they killed him!

        Add Mitrice Richardson, a 24 year old African American woman arrested at a restaurant in Malibu in 2010 for failing to pay her bill. Witnesses said she was acting “erratically.” Her car was impounded with her purse in it, and she was taken to the sheriff’s station miles up the canyon in Calabasas, booked, and released after midnight. No one at the sheriff’s station thought to make sure she was picked up by a friend or relative. With no purse, no car, no phone,  and apparent mental health issues, she set out through rugged terrain and vanished. This is the same area where Kobe Bryant’s helicopter went down. Steep hillsides giving way to deep canyons. Her remains were found months later in a remote location. There is no possible way the sheriffs would have released a young white woman with no resources to fend for herself in that area at night. And after an investigation, Kamala Harris’s office predictably declined to file charges against anyone responsible for what happened to Mitrice.
