Totally disgusting news, but then I don’t advocate ANY device, Alexa, or otherwise, that monitors me as a lab rat… I certainly don’t own one incase anyone thought it supported the most affected school aged children.

Workers are seen inside a Foxconn factory in the township of Longhua, in China’s Guangdong province.
Leaked documents show children as young as 16 recruited by Amazon supplier Foxconn work gruelling and illegal hours…

Hundreds of schoolchildren have been drafted in to make Amazon’s Alexa devices in China as part of a controversial and often illegal attempt to meet production targets, documents seen by the Guardian reveal.

Interviews with workers and leaked documents from Amazon’s supplierFoxconn show that many of the children have been required to work nights and overtime to produce the smart-speaker devices, in breach of Chinese labour laws.

According to the documents, the teenagers – drafted in from schools and technical colleges in and around the central southern city of Hengyang – are classified as “interns”, and their teachers are paid by the factory to accompany them. Teachers are asked to encourage uncooperative pupils to accept overtime work on top of regular shifts.

Hell, no... I'm not giving up...

The revolution extends to bringing down Amazon as far as I’m concerned.

      Hi mmm,

Thank you for sharing – further proof that capitalism is out of control – the production of spy machines by child labor to be sold to clueless Western morons.  What better example of the sick and twisted world we live in.  Hopefully this will be another wake up call for some.

Grief requires us to know the time we're in. The great enemy of grief is hope. Hope is the four-letter word for people who are unwilling to know things for what they are.

Our time requires us to be hope-free. To burn through the false choice of being hopeful and hopeless. They are two sides of the same con job. Grief is required to proceed.

Back in the day, when this country had morals and values, Kathy Lee Gifford was destroyed when it was revealed her clothing line for Walmart was being produced by child labor in China. Remember that? The entire country was outraged and she had a huge mess on her hands. That’s when people cared.

Amazon really does need to be taken down. I don’t own an Alexa or any other device like it and never will. I think they’re creepy. And I’ll never buy another Kindle either because all the new Kindles have Alexa on them. No thank you. Using child labor to make his products is  unethical. Would he allow his own children to be used the same way? I think not.
