(WSWS) On Tuesday, the World Health Organization (WHO) issued its interim report on the origins of COVID-19.

      (skip)

During and after their investigative trip to China, the researchers reviewed thousands of samples from Wuhan hospitals, mortality data for millions of people going back years, tens of thousands of patient records, tens of thousands of animal and wildlife samples, and the sequences of numerous related viruses primarily found in bats.

The report is a devastating blow to the effort of the American ruling class to promote the lie that the virus originated in a Chinese laboratory in Wuhan. It dismisses out of hand the claim that COVID-19 was developed as a biological weapon, concluding that this “has been ruled out by other scientists following analyses of the genome.”

The WHO considered the possibility of a laboratory leak. But it dismissed this possibility as “extremely unlikely,” declaring, “There is no record of viruses closely related to SARS-CoV-2 in any laboratory before December 2019, or genomes that in combination could provide a SARS-CoV-2 genome.”

virus. Has it already mutated to the unstoppable next outbreak (very quick changes or interchanges)? What else are we yet to know about the possible number of recombinant segments or viral Tree? RNA + RNA = DNA.

However, I do not believe that this assessment was extensive enough. Further data and studies will be needed to reach more robust conclusions.

Although the team has concluded that a laboratory leak is the least likely hypothesis, this requires further investigation, potentially with additional missions involving specialist experts, which I am ready to deploy.

We will keep you informed as plans progress, and as always, we very much welcome your input.

Let me say clearly that as far as WHO is concerned all hypotheses remain on the table.

This report is a very important beginning, but it is not the end. We have not yet found the source of the virus, and we must continue to follow the science and leave no stone unturned as we do.

Finding the origin of a virus takes time and we owe it to the world to find the source so we can collectively take steps to reduce the risk of this happening again. No single research trip can provide all the answers.

I understand that the US wants to use this for anti-China propaganda purposes. Sometimes the scientific method can’t be made to fit a particular political agenda.

Maybe through cages or from a truck not properly cleaned, etc. then released after some other unrelated exam was preformed. Maybe a bat rode out hanging the the underside or side of a truck. There are all kinds of possible scenarios.

The problem is that takes time, and lots of people would rather jump to conclusions than wait for the facts to come out. In the case of the American government, the chance to make propaganda clearly takes priority over reality.

that applied the scientific method.   I’m afraid the only science that America will fund these days is research into more WMDs.  Uncle Sam can never get his fill of WMDs, no matter how poor it’s making his citizens.

Big Pharma has all sorts of taxpayer-funded labs, not that the taxpayers ever see any profit off of them.
