I wonder how much $$$ the Holy Man will rake in from the True Believers in donations.
TAMPA — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has obtained an arrest warrant for the pastor of a Tampa megachurch who held two services on Sunday for scores of worshipers, violating a county order for residents to stay at home to limit the spread of coronavirus.
The Sheriff’s Office warned Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne and church attorneys at The River at Tampa Bay Church’s not to put the congregation at risk of contracting and spreading the virus by holding services at his church, Sheriff Chad Chronister said at a news conference. The Sheriff’s Office had received an anonymous tip that Howard-Browne was inviting the congregation to attend, even providing bus service to the church, Chronister said.
Howard-Browne refused to heed the warnings and held two large services on Sunday. A live stream on the church’s Facebook page showed congregants gathered for its Sunday morning “Main Event” service, many standing shoulder to shoulder while the church band played.
Chronister said Howard-Browne lives in Hernando County and was expected to turn himself “any minute now” to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, where Hillsborough deputies were waiting.

It will probably hold up to the inevitable Religious Right Freedom to Exercise Religion lawsuit. I’m pretty sure the county can show they had a compelling state interest at stake, namely the health of the citizens for whom they are responsible.
Nice touch of the state attorney to quote the Bible in support of their position, too. That always helps with brainless Bible-thumpers.

They nail the drooling saps who withhold medicine from their kids in the Name of Jesus. But, I expect a slap on the wrist and mega bucks from the True Believers.

Most likely they will set up a go-fund-me site and get more money from the suckers who attended the Sunday services.

What an idiotic move!
I would like to remind you that U.S. health insurance companies do not contribute anything to health care. They are only a PARASITIC middle man receiving an undeserved cut of "FREE MONEY".

Gives a whole new meaning to “Go forth and multiply”.
Conservative Pastor Who Refused to Close Church Amid Coronavirus Pandemic Suggests God Will Help By Multiplying Toilet Rolls
A conservative evangelical pastor has suggested to his followers that God will help multiply their toilet rolls amid the coronavirus pandemic.
In a clip posted to Twitter, pastor Rodney Howard-Browne, leader of the Florida-based Revival Ministries International, told his congregation that “this should be a time of supernatural sustenance, where what you have in your hand will multiply.”
“And every day there will be multiplications,” he continued. “You look at your toilet paper and you think I’m going to run out of toilet paper, but you have another roll where that one was and you don’t know how did that even take place.”
Howard-Brown added: “Are the toilet paper rolls getting together and having families now? What is taking place? When you look again, there’s still enough. You think you’re going to run out but when you look again there’s still enough. That’s supernatural sustenance.”

The 1st Amendment is supposed to guarantee the freedom to peaceably assembly. If we suspend the Constitution for this, it opens up a slippery slope, in my opinion, since all it would take is the outbreak of another new disease, even the rumor of one, to shut down everything again.
“There’s a new spirit abroad in the land. The old days of ‘grab and greed’ are on their way out. We’re beginning to think of what we owe the other fellow, not just what we’re compelled to give him. The time’s coming… when we shan’t be able to fill our bellies in comfort while others go hungry, sleep in warm beds while others shiver in the cold.... And God willing, we’ll live to see that day…” Basil Rathbone,"Sherlock Holmes Faces Death" (Universal 1943)
